The Elle Women in Hollywood Awards brought out some of the town's biggest names last night. The ceremony was held to coincide with the magazine's similarly themed upcoming issue, and cover girl Katie Holmes hit the cream carpet to show her support. Apparently Suri helped Katie select her all-black outfit, and the proud mom even opened up about their adventures in Boston.

Elle magazine hosted its annual Women in Hollywood Tribute at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills last night, and gorgeous British women rubbed shoulders with their American counterparts. Cat Deeley kept it classic in an LBD and L'Oreal Paris Legend Award recipient Julie Andrews was elegant in her black floor-length frock. All five November cover stars were in attendance, with Renee Zellweger dazzling in bright red, Emily Blunt cute in a nude number and Katie Holmes daring in a sheer black outfit alongside fellow cover stars Julianne Moore and Zoe Saldana.

LBDs were the order of the day for the Vogue Bulgari Charity Reception at the Saatchi Gallery in London last night. Peaches Geldof, Natalie Imbruglia and Bonnie Wright all kept their outfits classic and simple at the party to support Save The Children's Rewrite the Future campaign as part of Bulgari jewellery's 125th birthday celebrations, while James Corden brought a pop of colour with his bright jacket and shoes as he hung out with pal Dominic Cooper. The newly blonde Peaches provided some entertainment later in the evening by taking to the decks.

Back at Comic-Con I was treated to a sneak peek at Astro Boy, Summit's CG-animated film based on the Japanese TV series. At the time, the movie was overshadowed by New Moon anticipation, but I finally got a chance to see the cool, futuristic trailer without distraction.
Freddie Highmore voices the title character, a boy robot who's been engineered to perfection with all kinds of fun gadgets.

A whole host of stars including Rhys Ifans, Bill Nighy, Gemma Arterton, Sir Paul McCartney, Danny and Tom from McFly, Tom Sturridge, Jonathan Ross, and a very glamorous Geri Halliwell were out in force for the London premiere of The Boat That Rocked yesterday. It's the latest movie from Richard Curtis and tells the story of a pirate radio station in the 1960s. Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Kenneth Branagh, Jack Davenport and Flight Of The Conchords' Rhys Darby join Bill, Gemma, Tom and Rhys in the celeb-packed film, which opens in the UK on April 1.

Keira Knightley looked lovely in her white dress with black accessories at the Young Victoria afterparty in London last night. Keira was at the premiere to support her boyfriend Rupert Friend, who had his costar Emily Blunt on his arm on the red carpet. Keira has a few of her own new movies to look forward to — she'll be playing a cloned girl in Never Let Me Go after costarring with Colin Farrell in London Boulevard.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise walked the red carpet in London's Leicester Square last night for the UK premiere of Valkyrie. They were joined by lots of stars from both sides of the Atlantic, including Kelly Rowland, Dermot O'Leary and Dancing on Ice's Melinda Messenger and Zoe Salmon. The couple then went on to the Ivy for dinner, and Tom placed his hand over Katie's belly as they left: what could that mean I wonder?

Sometimes you come across a movie trailer that makes you chuckle or cry a little or gets your heart racing, but the trailer for The Boat That Rocked just plain makes me happy. With a ridiculously fun cast that includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh, and Nick Frost (among many others), and an equally fun premise (a group of "rogue" DJs standing up to the British government in the '60s? Yes, please) this comedy looks like it's right up my alley.

While there are a zillion World War II movies out there already, I kept an open mind going into the Tom Cruise star vehicle Valkyrie. Sure, this is a movie that has been dogged by bad press from start to finish (even due, in part, to the fact that Cruise is a Scientologist) but I can see that there is a fascinating movie to be made out of a German resistance movement involving Nazi officers in Adolf Hitler's inner circle.
High-ranking, aristocratic officers attempting to assassinate Hitler?

Johnny and Orlando seem to be just fine promoting Pirates without Keira, even if Johnny keeps insisting on wearing wacky spectacles. At the moment they're in Japan, charming their faithful followers back into the theaters. Johnny seems to love Pirates just as much as we do and says he's open to doing another one.
