Kate Hudson Keeps Her Front Row Seat Warm

Kate Hudson got into character with Casey Affleck on the Oklahoma set of The Killer Inside Me last week before heading back to NYC. On Saturday Ryder joined his mom to cheer on Alex Rodriguez at Yankee Stadium, though he seemed more interested in his trucks than in watching his mom's new boyfriend. Ryder's grandma isn't a big fan of Alex either - apparently Goldie Hawn is worried that Kate's going to get her heart broken again. Kate and Alex were spotted out clubbing together last night, so it looks like Kate will be making her own decisions about her love life for now.

Joaquin and Gwyneth Premiere Lovers After Disastrous Letterman Interview

Gwyneth Paltrow and Joaquin Phoenix posed together on the red carpet at a Ferragamo and Cinema Society hosted screening of their new movie Two Lovers in NYC last night. Gwyn had on another daring outfit while Hilary Duff was happy to be there. Joaquin managed to suit up for the cameras including that of Casey Affleck who is still documenting Joaquin's recent career change from acting to rapping. Earlier in the evening Joaquin stopped by Letterman, though he wasn't much up for chatting. You have to see it to believe it - video after the jump - Joaquin barely answered anything Dave asked which left the talk show host in an awkward position. At one point Phoenix put his gum on the underside of Dave's desk. Joaquin has made it clear he's not messing around with his new rap career, though he might want to think about his interview strategy if he wants to be taken seriously.

Casey and Joaquin Take Flight to Continue the Journey

Casey Affleck followed his brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix through security at LAX yesterday on their way to the next stop on their bizarre tour. Joaquin's final movie Two Lovers opens this weekend and he has been adamant that his transition from acting to rapping is serious - not a hoax. In fact, he affirms he has no intention to change his mind saying, "I'm not one of those people, like, when I break up with my girlfriend, I don't ever see her again. I see her as friends, but do I ever think about getting back together? No, when I do something, I do it. So I have no intention." Joaquin's first performance as a rapper didn't earn too many fans, but it sounds like he's passionate about the "storytelling" so perhaps some practice is all he needs.

Miami Beach Heats Up With a Star-Studded Bash

A bunch of stars proved that there's no reason to wait for New Year's Eve to get the party started in Miami last night. Casey Affleck joked around with his brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix, who apparently sees no reason to shave now that he's retired from the film industry. Diddy and Jamie Foxx were also on hand to join in the fun, while January Jones kept it a little more low-key cozying up her boyfriend. Many of the big holidays may have come and gone, but there are plenty more good times to be had as we all gear up to say goodbye to 2008.

Cameron and Casey Help Celebrate Amy's Last Night on SNL

They may not have been on SNL this weekend, but Cameron Diaz and Casey Affleck were among the celebrities who came to the after party late Saturday night. Casey went with a layered look while Cameron looked effortlessly fabulous as usual. Amy Poehler also stepped out to celebrate after starring in the show and delivering her final farewell during Weekend Update, which you can watch below. Apparently NY Governor Paterson wasn't amused by his portrayal in the sketch, but mostly it was sweet to hear her heartfelt goodbye. Of course this won't be the last we hear from Amy who is one of your new favorite celebrity parents of 2008. I'm sure there were more than a few goodbye toasts at the after party and we certainly wish Amy congrats as she moves onto her new projects and raising Archie.

The Affleck Boys Made Dubai a Little More Handsome

The Affleck boys joined up in the United Arab Emirates today to kick off the Dubai International Film Festival. Both Ben and Casey left their families back at home for a little dressed-up and clean-shaven brother time on the red carpet. With Ben taking on a new directing gig, maybe the Affleck boys will have a chance to work together again since they did such a good job the last time.

David Beckham treated his eldest son, Brooklyn, to courtside seats and a caramel apple. Other families spent the weekend jet-setting around the world. The Stefani Rossdale crew is jammin' in Hawaii while Britney and her entourage took a private plane to Louisiana for some down-home family time. Casey Affleck and his son Indiana got dressed up in ties on Saturday while running errands including a stop at Rite Aid with Summer Phoenix and baby Atticus. Casey is known for taking long breaks between projects, but he's just signed on for a new film called The Killer Inside Me alongside Jessica Alba. He's proved his acting skills with his latest roles, and we'll look forward to seeing if Casey can churn out another Oscar-worthy performance.

Birthday Wishes For Pretty Woman Julia and Retiring Joaquin

After posing for photos on the red carpet, Julia Roberts, Casey Affleck, Bruce Willis, and Tom Hanks were just a handful of the A-listers who performed last night in honor of Paul Newman. Joined on stage by the children from the Painted Turtle Camp, the actors got into costume and character as Jack Nicholson narrated The World of Nick Adams. While remembering Paul was a key element of the night, there were also plenty of jokes. Julia Roberts even touched on her role in Pretty Woman and when asked about a sequel, she said, "No one wants to see an old hooker! Do they?" While Julia was busy rejecting sequel ideas, Joaquin Phoenix declared that he's quitting acting entirely to focus on his music career. Both Julia and Joaquin are celebrating birthdays today, but it seems as if helping others is top of mind these days.
