This Friday, the movie version of Charlotte's Web, E.B. White's beloved kids book, hits theaters nationwide. Many people, old and young, love this story about friendship and the circle of life, and the movie will probably do well, since it's opening around the holidays, when families have more free time to spend together.

Ashton Kutcher unveiled his new web venture yesterday at the TechCrunch 50 Conference in SF, but he was able to unwind afterwards at dinner with Demi, his business partner Jason Goldberg, and Jason's wife Soleil Moon Frye. We got a chance to chat with Samantha about her tech toys and all her recent travels, from Australia to NYC for her sister Charlotte's fashion show and on to Toronto.

Everyone remembers the innocent tears they shed the first time they read Charlotte's Web, but not everyone is able to maintain a lifetime love of spiders. In fact, I'd venture to say spiders are one of most hated insects on the planet. So do we dislike them because they are associated with dark places and scary movies, because they are tiny and move quickly, or because we're afraid they will poison us?

Seriously Paris? From wearing all white, to attending church every Sunday, to carrying around the Bible and now this? Innocently eating ice cream while renting Charlotte's Web?

Award show season is in full swing and at Friday night's 12th annual Critics' Choice Awards in Santa Monica, Little Miss Sunshine and Dreamgirls were the big winners. Both films scored 4 awards, and the adorable Abigail Breslin won for best young actress. We're hoping this means we'll just get to see more and more of the darling little girl.
