The stars of last night's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event. Janet Jackson kicked things off with an energetic eight minute performance, and the evening's first award then went to the Black Eyed Peas. The Black Eyed Peas went on to take the stage to do "Boom Boom Pow" with a special Nirvana twist.

U2's concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena last night brought the A-list to the VIP lounge. There was plenty of manjoyment to be had, as Orlando Bloom joked around with a mask and Ryan Phillippe looked hot in his hat. Twilight hotties Cam Gigandet and Kellan Lutz also accessorised their gorgeous heads: Cam's girlfriend Dominique Geisendorff is one lucky lady!

So My Own Worst Enemy didn't work out so well for Christian Slater, but that hasn't deterred the actor from taking another stab at TV. Slater is now in negotiations to star in ABC's Fall drama series The Forgotten.
The drama, from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, focuses on a group of amateur investigators who try to track down people who go missing.

Audi hosted a dinner in LA last night to celebrate their new clean diesel technology and lots of celebrities came out to celebrate. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr were impeccably dressed and looking gorgeous as they chatted with their fellow environmentalist Christian Slater. Adrian Grenier isn't one to miss an eco-friendly event and took a break from filming Entourage to mingle with a few of his green celebrity pals.

Star Trek fever hit LA yesterday at the premiere of the new movie, following the UK premiere just over a week ago! The film's stars, including Chris Pine, Eric Bana, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Winona Ryder and Leonard Nimoy (in a cameo), showed up for the film, as well as plenty of celebs out to support the movie. Leighton Meester and Sophia Bush wore some inspired dresses, and Heidi Klum posed for photographers doing the famous hand sign!

After partying in London together earlier this week, George Clooney and Matt Damon rounded up even more of their celebrity friends for a private charity party in London last night. The event was a fundraiser for Darfur, a cause that both George and Matt have raised tons of money for and been openly passionate about in the past. George's buddies Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber were in attendance, as well as Luciana Damon and Claudia Schiffer.

Matt Damon, Guy Ritchie, Scarlett Johansson, Bono, Eva Mendes and a whole host of other Brit and American celebs showed up to a party in London arranged by George Clooney for the purpose of raising money for Africa. Guests paid up to £10000 for a ticket to the event at which Kid Rock provided some live music, and Antony Worrell-Thompson and Ainsley Harriot presided over the menu.
The event was held at the Mayfair home of a senior executive at Barclays, and the guest list also included David Walliams, Sarah Ferguson, Cindy Crawford, Trinny Woodall, Sophie Dahl, Jamie Cullum and Sir Michael Caine.

Last night Los Angeles played host to the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, where all our favourite TV stars lined up on the red carpet in gorgeous gowns and smart suits. Mad Men star Christina Hendricks looked stunning in her dark green dress, and Weeds actress Mary-Louise Parker brightened up the red carpet in her bright blue number. There were a smattering of Brits among those on the red carpet including Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen and her Extras costar Ricky Gervais.
