Kate Moss and Lily Allen had each other for support at last night's GQ Men of the Year Awards in London. The good friends posed for the cameras, though Kate also had Jamie Hince as her date for the evening following a busy few days together. Guy Ritchie and Eva Mendes chatted at their side-by-side seats, while Freida Pinto was without her boyfriend Dev Patel after spending their weekend side-by-side.

Director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, The Fountain, Requiem For a Dream) may be going from working with Mickey Rourke to directing Natalie Portman in the supernatural thriller Black Swan. Portman's delicate frame is well-suited for this story set within the world of New York City ballet. Apparently those who have read the script claim it's a "spine-tingler" that's not unlike The Others "in which viewers are left to discern what's real and what's imagined."

James Franco stopped off to get coffee with Darren Aronofsky in NYC yesterday. While most of the times we're cheering for James's career moves it's about his acting, the most recent development is his book of short stories. The creative writing student's project interests you more than many celebrity publications and it's not only about his cute face.

As awards season carries on at a great pace, last night the Film Critics' Circle Awards took place in London. It was also a mini Skins reunion as ex-castmates Nick Hoult and Dev Patel posed for some photos together, grinning happily. Dev's movie Slumdog Millionaire carried on its wonderful winning spree, and picked up three awards at the ceremony for best director, screenwriter and Attenborough film of the year.

I've been swatting away the buzzings of "Oscar watch" and "best film of the year" in regard to indie drama The Wrestler for a while now, just waiting until I could see a trailer and hopefully understand what all the fuss is about. The film stars Mickey Rourke (whose "astonishing performance" here has some calling him a "comeback kid") as an aging professional wrestler with a ton of regrets. He starts to try and take control of his life, however, when he befriends an exotic dancer (Marisa Tomei) and attempts to make peace with his estranged daughter (Evan Rachel Wood).

Rachel Weisz has been at the Toronto International Film Festival this week, attending screenings for her fiance Darren Aronofsky's movie The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke, and her own film The Brothers Bloom. Yesterday she was at the airport with her gorgeous family, departing the city with Darren and their son Henry. Rachel's certainly not short of love — not just from her family, but from British ladies too!

Rachel Weisz looked absolutely stunning all dressed up with her fiancé Darren Aronofsky, hiding behind that black cloak and mask, and their son Henry Chance at a photo shoot in NYC on Thursday. Judging from that pumpkin bag hanging off Rachel's arm, it's a Halloween themes spread and rumor has it that the magazine scoring the shots is Vogue. The issue would line up with Rachel's new movie The Brothers Bloom, I can't wait to see the final product.
