Appaloosa is a totally passable and — to my surprise — fun (and funny) Western movie. I'm amazed Ed Harris, the star/director/co-writer of the film, hasn't played more gunslingers, because his face was built for it. Under the shadow of a wide-brimmed hat, his skin looks believably weathered and creased, his bone structure sturdy and chiseled.

Renee Zellweger was all smiles and high hair last night at the Academy Theater in Beverly Hills for the premiere of her new movie, Appaloosa. There hasn't been too much buzz about the film, which opened in limited release yesterday — check out the trailer here — but the cast seems like a close bunch. Renee, Viggo Mortensen, and Ed Harris had nothing but kisses and hugs for each other joined by the Cox-Arquettes on the red carpet.

Appaloosa hasn't really been on my radar since the casting news was first announced over a year ago, which I find odd, especially since it stars some pretty big names, is directed by Ed Harris, and looks all Western epic-y. By contrast, we've had to see every new photo and poster and trailer for Australia as that film has been in production — and that one's coming out two months after this one. So, I find the lack of Appaloosa awareness to be strange.

Acting greats Sir Ian McKellen and Kevin Spacey were among the famous guests at the First Light Movie Awards in Leicester Square earlier this week. First Light Movies funds film projects with five to 19 year olds throughout the UK, and the celebs were there to encourage and congratulate these budding movie makers.
Gorgeous new Bond girl Gemma Arterton also attended, along with Naomie Harris, Ralf Little, Anna Popplewell, Shane Meadows, Ed Speleers and Jessica Hynes.

It was a hot day in London today, but Ed Westwick, Dermot O'Leary, Ant and Dec, Ben Whishaw and Andrew Garfield were among the men that got all dressed up in their suits for the 2009 BAFTA TV Awards, alongside the glamorous women. I can't wait to hear what you think of their red carpet looks!

The 2009 Teen Choice Awards took place yesterday in LA, with all the stars of the past year's charts, movies and TV shows turning up to be awarded by teens. The show is yet to air in both the US and UK, but Twilight took home a whole host of awards (check out the winners list under the cut for spoilers) as did Gossip Girl and the Jonas Brothers. Kristen Stewart looked like she was taking tips from Robert Pattinson with her big hair, and wore a seriously cool spiky skirt, while Leighton looked sexy in stripes!
