For the last eight years, Architectural Digest has had the unique pleasure of choosing a designer to design the green room for the Primetime Emmy Awards, which accommodates performers and speakers when they are not on stage. This year the magazine chose award-winning Los Angeles-based designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, who has worked for the likes of Cher, Ed Norton, Christina Aguilera, William H. Macy, and Sir Elton John, among other famous faces.

In the past season of Weeds, the Botwins moved from their gated community of Agrestic, CA, to a beach town on the border of California and Mexico. Hunkering down in Nancy's mother-in-law's house, the family set about remaking their lives. The grandma-style design of this house delighted me last season.

While Big Love is nowhere near as hip as Mad Men when it comes to its sets, there's no denying that the careful crafting of the show's look adds depth to the series. Last year at the Primetime Emmy Awards, Mad Men won for Best Drama, and earned 16 nominations overall. The compelling story arc, fabulous writing, and impeccable acting all contributed to the show's win. I may be biased, but I've got a sneaking suspicion that the show's amazing, retro look didn't hurt its chances at winning, either.

This morning Chandra Wilson and The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons rather adorably announced the major category nominees for the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards. It's a curious batch this year, with many of the categories containing more nominees than usual.
The 30 Rock appreciation continues, and has even increased, with a 30 Rock nomination in each of the comedy acting fields (and two in the Supporting Actor category — go Jack McBrayer!).

The Emmys are this Sunday and the decorating committee is hard at work preparing for the Art Deco themed after party. The look for the post show Governor's Ball is an elegant black and white color scheme that drips of old Hollywood glamour.
The dinner menu —created by chef Joachim Splichal of Los Angeles' Patina restaurant — starts off with a tomato, cucumber, mango, and Dungeness crab tower with a sweet ginger soy reduction sauce.

Paula Abdul was one of the worst dressed at the Emmys and now she looks like one of the most smashed. She constantly seemed drunk on AI last season and this clip from E!'s post-Emmy show proves that Paula is still drunk or on something. Is it time for an intervention?

Straight up now Paula, it is time to get a stylist. Once again, she has made it on our worst dressed list. Simon and Randy should have an intervention with their co-judge before the VMAs.
