Gerard Butler Is Not Lindsay Lohan's Man of the Year

Gerard Butler struck some silly poses as he was named GQ Man of the Year at a ceremony in Munich last night. The Scot spent the weekend partying alongside Lindsay Lohan at the opening of the Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco, and reports claimed the pair shared a kiss. Lindsay later denied it, tweeting: "it's amazing, one minute i'm dumped, the next i'm dating a model, now gerard? WHO HAS THE TIME! such lies -it keeps me laughing :)". Gerard's been linked with so many woman, forcing him to make several denials, and you're evenly split on whether you think all the rumours are true. At least there's also news about Gerard's career to distract us from reports about his personal life: he has signed up for Coriolanus, Ralph Fiennes' directorial debut, with shooting in Serbia due to start in March.

Gerard Butler - Love Him or Leave Him?

Gerard Butler has had a rough couple of weeks - critics panned his film Law Abiding Citizen and his appearance on Saturday Night Live didn't win rave reviews either. On top of everything else, there are rumors about him and Jessica Simpson getting cozy floating around. There is some light at the end of the tunnel though: he just announced in an interview that he'd be joining Shakespeare's Coriolanus with Ralph Fiennes for his next film.

It's nice to see Butler take on a project with some serious acting teeth. While he's always easy on the eyes in romantic comedies like P.S. I Love You or The Ugly Truth, I've never really liked the films themselves. (The possible exception being The Phantom of the Opera, since you know I love movie musicals!)

Maybe you disagree with me though? Law Abiding Citizen did take No. 2 at the box office, and I know that several of you liked the movie despite my review. So what do you think of Gerard Butler - love him or leave him?

Gerard Butler is no stranger to a rumored romance, and his latest conquest is said to be none other than Jessica Simpson. The duo allegedly only had eyes for each other during a recent dinner with friends in NYC, but a source denies the romance.

If his many supposed flings all actually happened, Gerard has been a busy man wining and dining the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Shanna Moakler, Cameron Diaz and others. It could make one wonder if Gerard truly is such a dedicated bachelor, or if someone is working behind the scenes to enhance his leading man status. Donatella Gets Lindsay and the PYTs to Celebrate Art in NYC

Donatella Versace gathered some friends from the fashion and art worlds in NYC last night for the Whitney Museum Gala. First up was a star-studded dinner, where Taylor Momsen and Mischa Barton mingled with Shakira and Jennifer Hudson. The festivities then moved downstairs for the afterparty, with Lindsay Lohan turning up to make a cameo. We had a quick chat with the newly-minted artistic adviser, who said she was there "for Donatella" - and the duo certainly looked close as they posed for photos. Lindsay said she arrived late for the bash due to her travels, but that she'd be sticking around the city to handle "personal business." LL apparently even opened up later about her rumored hookup with Balthazar Getty, telling Gossip Cop that she'd never do that to Samantha Ronson.

LL managed to avoid any run-ins with Samantha's family as she narrowly avoided Charlotte Ronson. Donatella was truly the woman of the evening as she hung out with Lindsay, Mischa and Shakira and they all checked out a DJ set from Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen.

Gerard's Among the Gorgeous Girls at the Whitney Gala

The stars were out in New York last night at the Whitney Museum Gala Studio Party in Manhattan, where glam was the order of the night for the guests. Alexa Chung looked beautiful in pale blue, on the day the second series of It's On With Alexa Chung started on MTV in the US, while Mischa Barton went for gown in a darker shade. Shimmering nudes and metallics were also prevalent as Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen played her skin coloured dress up with a very smoky eye, and buddies Donatella Versace and Lindsay Lohan also wore pale shades. Go behind the seams with Fab UK! Jennifer Hudson looked stunning in her pale pink dress, while Gerard Butler looked suave as always in his black suit. Yum!

Law Abiding Citizen: Deserves a Death Sentence

Oh, Gerard Butler, what were you thinking? You might be able to forgive the 300 actor for starring in this horror flick disguised as a meaningful thriller, but he also served as producer to help finance the train wreck. Did he not even read the script?

Law Abiding Citizen opens with Butler as Clyde Shelton, a devoted father and husband who witnesses the murder of his family by two psychopaths after a break-in. When his lawyer, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), strikes a deal in the case that lets one of them free, Shelton begs Rice to reconsider. And that’s where Shelton's deadly resentment - and the slasher flick stuff- begins.

Ten years later, Shelton returns to seek vengeance against Rice and the entire Philadelphia legal system through a series of mass killings and car bombs. The man is understandably still distraught over his family’s deaths, but he’s clearly gone cuckoo.

This is when the movie becomes less of a drama and starts resembling the Saw franchise instead. While Shelton starts off as the good guy, he's later partaking in gruesome torture scenes that leave him completely in covered in blood like the prom scene in Carrie. To make matters worse, Shelton throws out bad jokes as he's wreaking havoc for a few cheap laughs. It negates any possibility for the audience to feel sympathy for Shelton, and the attempted shock value also completely ruins the movie's credibility.

The film wants to make us question the inner-workings of law - when dealing with a killer, is it better to leave things to the justice system or take matters into your own hands? Really though, it would’ve worked better as a cheesy horror movie. It has all of the requirements: splattered body parts, a giant chain saw, abandoned warehouses, goofy wigs and costumes, creepy music, the obligatory muffled voice on the end of the phone - and loads of plot holes. Like, why is Shelton rich enough to buy all of his assassin-style supplies and how does he know how to use them all? The film attempts to answer the question for us later in the film, but it feels tacked on and much too late.

In other words, if you do go see this film, don't try to think too much about it. Foxx and Butler do their best with what they're given, but the film is only good for a couple of thrills that make you jump in your seat. As for me, I just wanted to walk out.

Gerard and Jamie Prove They're Law Abiding Citizens in LA

Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx hit the red carpet to premiere their new movie Law Abiding Citizen in LA last night. Gerard posed solo and stopped to sign autographs for waiting fans, while Jamie and costar Regina Hall snuggled up for photographers. Although the two men play adversaries on screen, Gerard and Jamie looked quite buddy-buddy as they joked and laughed their way to the afterparty. Gerard joked about his butt-baring scenes in the movie which could help attract a more co-ed audience to check the psychological thriller.

He's in the Big Apple to promote his latest film Law Abiding Citizen, which comes shortly after his The Gamer and The Ugly Truth hit theaters. Busy Gerard just wrapped work on The Bounty, and despite his many other projects, people are still asking about his costar Jennifer Aniston. He recently shared more about their rumored relationship, saying, "I love her to death . . . She's the coolest and she's become a great friend, but there's nothing going on. And if there was, I'd be happy to say it!"
