Back when Alanis Morissette covered Fergie's "My Humps," I thought it was funny. Now Australian pop star Sia has done a cover of Britney's "Gimme More", which comes to us via Underwire, and it actually makes me like the song a little more. Slowed down and made into a sweeter tune, Sia's song is less nightclub and more coffee shop.

We didn't think we'd get to see Brit's latest video until next week but it looks like she couldn't wait to get it out there. It's certainly a great distraction from all the bad parenting press she's been receiving. We knew about the raunchy outfit and long dark hair but we didn't know about the clever lighting and camera tricks which almost make Britney come across as still somewhat sexy.

Now this is more like it! The few leaked songs that were supposedly Brit's big comeback were not the real thing but now we finally have the new song and the question is, Is Britney Back? The song will definitely make you want to get on the dance floor and make you wonder what it will be like to watch her perform it in that old school Britney way.

Cover songs typically get a bad rap, but every once and a while a remake of a catchy track comes along that's worthy of its predecessor. (Just take Sinead O'Connor's version of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U," for instance).
Kelly Clarkson did her own renditions of The White Stripes's "Seven Nation Army" and Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" in concert earlier this week, and her samplings weren't half bad.
