Hilary Duff was back in some quirky outfits (think she has enough bracelets?) on the set of Greta. At least she got to stay dry this time around and playing with computers is always a good time. In the movie, Hilary plays a waitress who falls in love with one of the cooks at her restaurant and has to explain his criminal record to her disapproving grandparents.

After spending the summer on tour, Hilary got back to her acting roots on the set of Greta yesterday. Shooting on location at the beach seems like a pretty nice deal, and who doesn't love a nice dip in the ocean with your clothes on every now and then? Even though we know she is in super shape, apparently the scene called for clothes.

Today there came news that Hilary Duff will be starring in an "indie teen romance" titled Greta. The story revolves around "a young waitress who embarks on a romance with an ambitious chef (Evan Ross). Her grandparents (Ellen Burstyn and Michael Murphy) have their concerns about the boy's criminal past."

Swedish born actress Greta Garbo, née Greta Lovisa Gustafson, was known for her alluring, sensual, and extremely private nature. Before striking it big in both the silent and "talkies" film eras, her first job was in the beauty biz (ah, a girl after Bella's heart) as a lather girl at a local barbershop.
Another early job involved modeling hats, which ironically became one of Garbo's trademark accessories.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ben Stiller movies. Over the years, I've grown tired of seeing him in the same everyman role again and again (with a few exceptions, like There's Something About Mary), but every now and then he throws a curve ball that pulls me back in. Greenberg already looks like one of the latter films.

About a year ago Nicole Kidman signed on to play a transsexual in The Danish Girl, and now Gwyneth Paltrow has signed on to play her (his?) wife. Taking over a role originally slated for Charlize Theron, Paltrow will play Greta, an artist in 1920s Copenhagen who encourages her husband (Kidman) to pose as a female model — but has mixed feelings about the matter when her husband decides to undergo a sex change operation.
This is the second recent project that Charlize has dropped out of only to make room for another big star (the first is The Tourist), but do you think Gwyneth will be a better fit for the role?

Couture week continued in Paris yesterday as eccentric designer Jean Paul Gaultier brought his creations to the catwalk. The enfant de terrible of French fashion produced a varied line which was celebrating the golden age of Hollywood. Models were made up to resemble stars of the silver screen including Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo and Marilyn Monroe.
