Born in 1952 to the Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and Italian director Roberto Rossellini, it seems only natural for Isabella Fiorella Elettra Giovanna Rossellini to be equally legendary herself. She arrived in New York at the age of 19 holding a variety of jobs from translator to television reporter before her first movie role in 1976, alongside her mother in A Matter of Time. Finding some success and enjoyment in acting, she had her first big-screen starring role in The Meadow a few years later.

I was impressed by Mary-Kate Olsen on Monday night, but yesterday Ashley looked just fabulous at the Everywhere At Once Cocktail Party and Screening Hosted by Harper's Bazaar in NYC. Look at that grin, love it! Everyone is wearing those Balenciaga gladiator sandals these days, eh?

Winslet flew to Paris to attend a 300-person dinner tonight at the Musée Rodin, where the official announcement will be made.

The Gotham Awards sparked some controversy this year for allowing big studio backed films to compete with the low budget indies that the show usually recognizes. However, this did not keep the stars away and it looks like the indies still dominated the awards despite competition from The Departed. Half Nelson was the big winner of the night with best feature, breakthrough director and breakthrough actor (Go Ryan Gosling!).
