Last month James Franco backed out of his duties as the UCLA commencement speaker just days before the ceremony, and here are some "outtakes" of the speech he was working on. The clips are obviously a joke and he even pokes fun at the controversy surrounding his being named speaker in the first place, but we wonder if the scorned students will find it funny. Check it out below and tell us what you think — on point or over the top?

Move over Brad, Will, and George — there are some hot young actors racking up stellar movie roles and looking good doing it. Not only is this group of guys easy on the eyes, but they all seem serious about cultivating long and prosperous film careers. Some of these fellas have been kicking around Tinseltown for a while and some only recently broke out onto the scene in a major way.

James Franco was in student mode earlier this week as he tackled his graduate school assignments at Columbia University's library in NYC. He's been hard at work on the set of Howl, but as finals time approaches James needs to focus on his academics. It will be Summer soon, and he will be leaving the city to film Your Highness in Ireland and Date Night with Tina Fey and Steve Carell.

James Franco has been busy filming Howl between classes in NYC recently and last night he took another break from studying to speak on a panel at the MoMA Museum. The actor showed off a range of expressions and emotions, which will be good practice for when he has to win over the UCLA student body as their unwanted commencement speaker. While those students might need some convincing he's hotter than ever in the movie world — he's being offered projects all over including alongside Danny McBride again.

James Franco was back in costume as Allen Ginsburg on the NYC set of Howl yesterday afternoon. His schedule is jam packed between his snooze-inducing grad school lectures and working on his controversial UCLA commencement address, but he's already looking towards his next movie project. He just signed on to join forces again with his Pineapple Express costar Danny McBride for another stoner comedy called Your Highness, which is set to begin production this Summer in Ireland.

Actor Danny McBride has been getting more and more recognition in recent years by starring in things like Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express, Superbad, and now the HBO series Eastbound and Down, which he also helped create. Now he's written a comedy script and gotten a studio (Universal), a director (Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green), and a star (James Franco) to play a lead role alongside him.
Titled Your Highness, the comedy "follows two spoiled and arrogant princes in a medieval fantasy setting.

Poor, sexy James Franco. Don't these UCLA students know that the commencement speaker doesn't always have to have experience or anything interesting to say to be a commencement speaker? (Well, to be fair, it is his alma mater.) Sometimes, being hot is enough.

It was just another afternoon at work for James Franco on the set of Howl in NYC yesterday. He sported his third costume change of the week, and this time he also got to be behind a camera as well as in front of them. We're always interested in seeing James take on dressing up for new parts, but at the same time we'd be more than happy to see him ditch those button-downs altogether.

James Franco spent his St. Patrick's Day hard at work on the NYC set of Howl. It was his second day in a row dressed as Allen Ginsburg in one of the two biopics currently in production about the writer's life.

Another Allen Ginsberg movie, you say? Why yes, in fact, in addition to the Ginsberg biopic Howl starring James Franco as the legendary poet (check out some new pics from the set here), now Jesse Eisenberg (of The Squid and the Whale and the upcoming Adventureland) will play Ginsberg in the feature film Kill Your Darlings.
In Howl, the focus is on the obscenity trial launched to censor Ginsberg's long poem "Howl."
