Having stripped down in the Caribbean sun last week, Daniel Craig was back in a grey suit for the European premiere of Defiance at London's Leicester Square last night. It was a little Gossip Girl reunion in NYC last night at a screening of Blake Lively's new movie Elvis & Annabelle. Her TV brother and TV frenemy (Eric and Chuck) came out to support their costar, but there was no Blair in sight. There was a rumor earlier today that a Josh Schwartz alum, Mischa Barton, was going to guest star on the show but alas she turned the offer down.
Movie Preview: Defiance
Defiance has been completely off my radar, but now that I've seen the trailer with the ultra-dreamy Daniel Craig, and knowing it comes from Edward Zwick, director of Blood Diamond (not to mention Legends of the Fall), I can't wait to see the movie this autumn. The plot is this: "Three Jewish brothers (Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell) escape from Nazi-occupied Poland into the Belarussian forest, where they join Russian resistance fighters and endeavor to build a village in order to protect themselves and others in danger." The trailer is, as you might expect, highly dramatic, dark and thrilling in a scary kind of way.

2008 MTV VMAs: Winners And Wicked Performances
As I told you earlier, Britney Spears won three awards last night, sweeping the board at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. After her cringeworthy comeback performance last year, it felt like this year she'd finally got it all together — she looked stunning in her mini-dress as she opened the show with a skit featuring Jonah Hill (UK readers, you can watch it all unfold on MTV tonight from 8pm). Rihanna, T.I, Christina Aguilera and the Jonas Brothers also put on some memorable performances, with Pink's spectacle of a performance standing out as a particular highlight.
