Oct 23 2009 - 6:00am Nicole Richie and Joel Madden spent a few hours away from adorable Sparrow and Harlow yesterday to help out some other deserving kids at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Beyond Shelter organization in LA. The couple is deeply involved in children's charities, especially their own Richie-Madden Foundation. After the event, Nicole tweeted an appreciative note to the volunteers saying, "It felt great to be back.
I don't buy her kindness. I think Nicole needs more than digging playgrounds to be a better person. By the way, being a mother doesn't make people better. Ask Octomom and Kate Josselin.
I love genuine charity work, not photo ops and cheeseballing (made that one up myself)...I believe these two really care about thekids.... and I agree with anon about kids not making people
"better"...I know a chick with 3 kids she'd sell for $5 each if she could b/c her weekends aren't hers anymore, still selfish as always...but I like Nicole
