Radio City Music Hall was bursting with stars of the stage last night at the 2008 Tony Awards. The glitz and glamour were everywhere as some of the biggest names in Broadway came together to celebrate each other. Mary-Louise Parker was a highlight as usual, though I'm not sure what to say about the Counting Crows' Adam Duritz on her arm.

- Mel Gibson lost his temper last night at Cal State Northridge when several members of the Mayan community challenged his representation of their culture in Apocalypto, even telling one woman, "Lady, F**k off." Not sure if another stint in rehab is going to fix this one. - TMZ

And funny women often try to tone down their beauty so that they're judged by their humor, not their looks. Both Phyllis Diller and Lily Tomlin have discussed how they downplayed their appearance to be taken more seriously as comedians, as did Lucille Ball.

The striking Writers Guild members were joined on the picket line by veteran and current TV as well as movie stars yesterday. While most of the focus thus far has been the effect of the strike on our television, the movie writers are out there too. Jack Black and Ben Stiller were there holding down the film actor front.
