Sometimes it's still hard to believe that Michelle Williams was once Jen Lindley on Dawson's Creek. She's completely broken out of that mold with her ongoing string of indie films like Wendy and Lucy and Synecdoche, New York, and now comes yet another dark choice to add to her resume.
Williams stars opposite Gael Garcia Bernal in the upcoming drama, Mammoth, which follows a young family whose world begins to crumble after a few bad decisions.

After spending some time in Australia, Michelle Williams was back at work in New York on the set of Mammoth yesterday. She was in good spirits celebrating Heath's life on Saturday, so perhaps she was able to get a bit of closure. Staying busy is probably one of the best things Michelle can do for herself right now, and we're glad she has her movies to serve as a distraction and her Matilda to keep bringing her happiness.

The amphibian footwear created by Crocs has always been controversial in the fashion world, but now the medical field is weighing in on the shoes as well. Coldplay brought their world tour to a close this weekend with two rocking shows at Wembley Stadium, and I was lucky enough to be there. Chris Martin and the boys were supported by White Lies, Girls Aloud and a record-breaking Jay-Z, who really got the audience going: watch Girls Aloud's "The Promise" and Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" after the jump. Coldplay performed a mammoth set of their hits, plus an acoustic version of "Billie Jean" where they were joined by Simon Pegg who played the harmonica, and Jay-Z came back out for "Lost".

To be filed right next to New Delhi's record for the world's largest biryani: Sankalp, a restaurant chain based in the city of Ahmedabad, India, claims to have made the world's longest dosa.
The mammoth dosa — a crepelike South Indian specialty made from rice and black lentils — was created last Wednesday and measured in at 32 feet and 5 inches long, taking less than 40 minutes to put together. To make the behemoth, a team of 16 chefs practiced for 10 days, working to achieve the correct length by maintaining a steady temperature across the entire dosa, while handling a tawa, or hot plate, that was 35 feet long.

Although I can't make it to the official celebration in Wisconsin, I'll be observing National Mustard Day this weekend. But I'm really salivating over the photos from the Maine Lobster Festival, and I'm curious to try a so-called Rocky Mountain oyster at the appropriately-dubbed Testy Festy. What looks most appetizing to you?

Cheryl Cole showed no sign of slowing down after her mammoth birthday party on Wednesday, spending yesterday evening at Nobu Berkley with hubby Ashley. She's back on the road today for more X Factor auditions. In addition to rumours that Cheryl is in the running to replace Simon Cowell as main judge on the show, reports today suggest Cheryl's also being lined up to front a US version of The X Factor.

By now you must have heard that Starbucks is closing 600 of its stateside coffee shops. Last week Starbucks released the official list of the closing stores with a grand total of 616 closures. The closing stores are company-operated stand alone locations; no bookstore, super market, or airport Starbucks will be shuttered.
