Katy, Alesha, GaGa, Amy and More Rock the V Festival Stage!

Superstar singers took to the stages in Chelmsford and Staffordshire for V Festival this weekend. Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Alesha Dixon impressed on stage in their outlandish outfits. My girl FabUK has the lowdown on all the stylistas, and I've got videos of the big performances - check them out after the jump. Lily Allen took time out from the cricket to sing on stage, and musicians from both sides of the Atlantic entertained the crowds.

Brandon Flowers, Johnny Borrell, Dizzee Rascal, Mike Skinner, McFly, Natalie Imbruglia, Taylor Swift, Pixie Lott, Daniel Merriweather, James Morrison, Paolo Nutini, The Script and The Saturdays all performed. The big disappointment was Oasis were a no-show due to Liam Gallagher's viral laryngitis, but the big surprise was Amy Winehouse's appearance on stage with Pete Doherty and The Specials: you can watch her performance after the jump.

Pete Doherty Released on £50,000 Bail After Police Car Chase

Pete Doherty has been released on £50,000 bail, provided by his manager, following his arrest yesterday. In the early hours of Thursday morning Pete got into a car chase with police, drove while under the influence of alcohol, and heroin was found in his car and, later, his house.

He was in Gloucester for a gig on Wednesday night, when police tried to stop him for driving erratically, Pete then apparently sped away and mounted a kerb and when he stopped he tried to swap seats with a female passenger.

Pete denied a charge of dangerous driving at Stroud Magistrates' Court today, and pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of Class A drugs, driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He didn't enter a plea to the charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol. His lawyer said:

"My client would firstly like to express his disappointment in himself and disappointment that he has let his fans down. He has been out of trouble for over a year and a break of 14 months represents a real achievement for someone with a drug dependency. This offence represents an aberration. There a been a very real and very significant change in his behaviour."

Pete was ordered to obey a curfew while not performing and has been told to refrain from taking any illegal drugs. The case has been adjourned until 11 August.

Pete Doherty Arrested Over Drugs On Flight

While flying to Geneva, Switzerland at the weekend, Pete Doherty was allegedly discovered slumped in a plane bathroom, which led to him being detained on arrival by police. A hypodermic needle was also apparently found on board. The Swiss police arrested Pete, but allowed him to play the show that he was in the country to perform.

A police spokesman said:

“We were contacted by the captain of a BA flight and a passenger was controlled by police. He was charged - but I cannot say what with. He paid a fine and was allowed to go.”

Pete had previously said that he had quit drugs, following a number of arrests in the UK which led to him being jailed for 29 days after her breached a probation order.
