It must be Highly Anticipated Trailer Day today or something: First we got a glimpse of Nine, and now we have the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel The Road. The movie stars Viggo Mortensen as a man coping emotionally and physically in a post-apocalyptic world and trying to defend his family.
The book uses an apocalyptic scenario as a way to meditate on themes of humanity, and the effect is stirring.

The premise for this movie is actually kind of funny (I mean, if you ignore the emotional toll this would take on your loved ones): In 1938 a Tennessee recluse named Felix "Bush" Breazeale staged his own funeral so he could be around to enjoy it.
Now the story will be adapted for the big screen, with Bill Murray and Lucas Black signed on to play partners at the funeral home. Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek are also starring in the film which has the title Get Low.

A blockbuster superhero movie can certainly get the casting directors interested: Both Jeff Bridges (Iron Man) and Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Dark Knight) will have won over critics and audiences alike come Summer's end, and now they've added another project to their schedules. Along with Robert Duvall, the two will star in a "music-based drama" based on a book by Thomas Cobb titled Crazy Heart.
The good news.

I wandered into We Own the Night expecting stellar performances that would rescue an otherwise so-so movie. And though the movie was definitely so-so (really, a few notches below), I can't blame the actors. After all, the script — riddled with clichés and sorely lacking any dramatic tension — didn't give the typically talented performers anything to work with.

Joaquin Phoenix was looking pretty darn cute at a photocall for his new movie, We Own the Night at Cannes. The movie, which also stars Eva Mendes and a sadly absent Mark Wahlberg, is about two brothers who get involved with the Russian mafia. At one point Eva and Joaquin were battling on-set dating rumors even though she has had a long time boyfriend.

Drew was all glammed up at the premiere of her new movie, Lucky You, at the Tribeca Film Festival last night. In the film she stars as a songstress who falls in love with a poker player played by Eric Bana. Drew did all the singing in both Music and Lyrics and Lucky You and is on both soundtracks as well, so that part of the role wasn't much of a stretch.

After celebrating the return of Fontainebleau in Miami on Friday, the stars returned to the famous resort on Saturday for the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show. The pink carpet was brimming with stars despite the location change, including one of our favorite bachelors Robert Buckley. Heidi Klum looked incredible in the lingerie and showed off her perfect abs when Usher took to the runway to perform.

Reese Witherspoon was smiley and gorgeous even without her costar Vince Vaughn at the premiere of Four Christmases in LA last night. Reese wasn't the only breathtaking blonde — Kristin Chenoweth posed like a pro despite the news that Pushing Daisies has not been picked up further. While Vince wasn't on the red carpet his friend Jon Favreau filled in the place, though we miss his big friendly smile out to promote his endearing holiday spirit with Reese.

The little taste of Four Christmases in recent TV previews has only made me more curious to see a longer trailer, and now we've got it. As we know, Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn play Kate and Brad, who try to avoid their families around the holidays — but this year is different. Both of them have divorced parents, and they're forced to visit all four of their families for Christmas.
