How much would you pay for a kiss from Robert Pattinson? Well, that was one of the prizes on offer last night after good sport Robert entered a last minute prize in the auction at the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit in Cannes! It was a star studded event with Sharon Stone encouraging bidders, and guests including Josh Hartnett, Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson, Paris Hilton, Peaches Geldof, Eva Green, David Walliams, Hayden Panettiere, Lily Cole and so many more.

With all of the glitz and glamour at the Cannes Film Festival, it's refreshing to see a few famous faces opt for the no-makeup makeup look. Don't get me wrong, these ladies attended last night's amFAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit looking lovely, poised and polished for the red carpet, however, they let their inner beauty do most of the work and chose a less is more style. I especially like Hayden Panettiere's bronzed glow and Noemi Lenoir's sheer, nude lip.

Another Cannes red carpet lit up today, but this time it was about charity instead of movies as the stars came out for Sharon Stone's annual amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS 2009 benefit. After a long night of partying with Brad and Angelina, Joshua Jackson accompanied Diane Kruger to the event, while Paris and Doug represented a different kind of couple. Robert Pattinson didn't need a leading lady on his arm to stand out in another dapper suit and Josh Hartnett also provided some eye candy for the ladies.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie let loose with the rest of the cast of Inglourious Basterds at a party after the big premiere in Cannes yesterday. They looked happy cozying up to each other and chatting with their fellow party-goers, like Quentin Tarantino and Emile Hirsch, though apparently there were eight bodyguards keeping a close eye on the couple at all times. Diane Kruger snuggled up with Joshua Jackson, who skipped the red carpet earlier to let his lady have the spotlight.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stepped out on the red carpet this morning for the much-anticipated premiere of Inglourious Basterds at Cannes. It's always such a treat to see Angelina mixing it up from basic black, and she added a touch of drama with her super red lips and daring slit, which showed off her sexy legs — what do you think of her look? Brad kept it simple in his tux, while Diane Kruger made sure to stand out in her white Marchesa gown.

Jim Carrey had Jenny McCarthy on his arm at a photo call for A Christmas Carol in Cannes yesterday. It's a bit early to start thinking about the holiday season, though Jim had no problem finding his spirit as he threw fake snowballs and let his future talk show host girlfriend lovingly brush snowflakes out of his hair. We'll have to wait until November to see Jim showcase his voice as Scrooge in the animated film, but he's already talking about how much he loved being part of the transformation of the classic character.

Starting on Wednesday evening, stars from all around the globe have gathered in the South of France for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. American actress Robin Wright Penn was there on the red carpet not once but on four different occasions decked to the nines in varying hairstyles. I love the body and colour of her bright blonde hair, but for the glamorous red carpet, I think I like the twisty, centre parted updo best.

With wedding season upon us, brides will have to face the impending question of how to wear their hair on their big day. If you're trying to decide to go classical and upswept. sleek and pulled back, half up or loose and down, what better ways to source ideas then to look at famous movie scenes from years past.

In the movies and on TV, investigations always look so exciting and fun — piecing together the facts, swapping clues, untangling the web strand by strand, etc. In a story centered around journalism, this mystery-solving stuff is what makes it fun to watch, especially if there's also a good dose of realism but not so much that it becomes mired in realistic details and we get bored. State of Play very nicely balances these things: It's a sensational murder mystery-thriller but with a scruffy, grumpy journalist lead character and a supporting cast of equally "normal" people.
