The 2009 Teen Choice Awards took place yesterday in LA, with all the stars of the past year's charts, movies and TV shows turning up to be awarded by teens. The show is yet to air in both the US and UK, but Twilight took home a whole host of awards (check out the winners list under the cut for spoilers) as did Gossip Girl and the Jonas Brothers. Kristen Stewart looked like she was taking tips from Robert Pattinson with her big hair, and wore a seriously cool spiky skirt, while Leighton looked sexy in stripes!
Brits David, Keira and Ed Win At US Teen Choice Awards
America has already let the kids choose this year, so it was time for the teens to have their say at the Teen Choice Awards 2008 last night in LA. The usual pretty and adored-by-kids suspects were there last night - The Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Miranda Cosgrove, Demi Lovato, Drake Bell, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron and the show's host Miley Cyrus, as well as some big names to all ages like Will Smith, Scarlett Johansson, Josh Holloway, Blake Lively, Rachel Bilson and Steve Carell.
Us Brits were represented by David Beckham, who brought Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz to watch him win a surfboard for Choice Male Athlete; Keira Knightley, who wasn't actually there but won Choice Drama Movie Actress; and Ed Westwick, whose Choice TV Villain surfboard proved that even when we're putting on US accents, Americans think that Brits are best at being villains!
Jessica Really Appeals to the Teens
Apparently Jessica and Cash didn't have time to take advantage of being in Paris after Eva and Tony's wedding, because the two were at the airport on their way out yesterday morning. And don't they just look thrilled as usual (though I'm loving her coat)? Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer may have been a bit overshadowed by the other Summer blockbusters, but the Teen Choice Awards committee took notice and nominated Jessica for 3 awards: Hissy Fit, Female Hottie, Action Adventure Actress.
The Men Get Dapper in Black and White for VMAs
They may not get to be as colorful, but the men managed to keep things interesting at the VMAs. Chris Brown was a stand out having a blast on the red carpet handing out hugs to all his friends he ran into along the way like Lupe Fiasco who was gearing up for his big performance. Chris Brown's performance last year still has people gushing, but the topic of the night was Britney.
It Was Another Slimy Kids' Choice Awards
After showing off their looks on the orange carpet, the stars got down to the real fun at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night. Miley Cyrus was the night's biggest winner taking home the awards for Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Female Singer, but she managed to avoid being slimed. Orlando Bloom was not as lucky as he got the night's biggest sliming honor.

Casual Rules on the Kids' Choice Awards Orange Carpet
Nickelodeon hosted the 2008 Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night, and similar to last year, the big stars — like Will Smith — brought their families for a stroll down the orange carpet. Wannabe Award winner Cameron Diaz, America Ferrera and Ashlee Simpson were just a few of the ladies who got girlie in dresses, while Rihanna and Abigail Breslin went more casual in jeans. The Boys Keep Things Simple At the VMAs
Most of the boys took advantage of the anything goes dress code at the MTV VMAs last night. 50 Cent stood tall in his tan blazer while his frenemy Kanye got all tuxed up for the event. Adam Levine went pretty boy in a vest and scarf while Ryan Scheckler kept up his skater style and Steve-O grossed us all out with his nasty chest hair.
