Olivia Wilde struck a pose this afternoon at the Power of Women luncheon in LA, while elsewhere the news broke that her costar Jennifer Morrison will be leaving their series House. Olivia was joined by a fresh-off-the-Emmys-red-carpet January Jones, along with Anne Hathaway and AnnaLynne McCord. Christina Aguilera was also in attendance, as her husband Jordan Bratman dared to be one of the few guys in the room.

Neil Patrick Harris was the star of the night at yesterday's Primetime Emmy Awards. He hosted the long show and managed to keep things interesting with his constant jokes and hours of preparation looking up the tiniest, most obscure roles on all the presenters' resumes to introduce them with. Check out all the winners here.

We already had one look at all the gorgeous ladies on the Emmys red carpet, but many of the other ensembles were also amazing. Heidi Klum kicked things off in a dress that perfectly showcased her growing baby bump, while Tina Fey picked out a number in similar black. Leighton Meester was quite a contrast in white, looking pretty with her red lips.

Sigourney's days of busting ghosts and fighting off aliens may be behind her, but girl certainly still knows how to tackle a red carpet. A touch of green mascara enhanced her brown eyes, and she kept her lips and cheeks low-key with a natural, fresh pink. Sigourney's aging like a fine wine, but do you like this understated look, or do you wish she'd played her fabulous features up a little bit more?

Hello from muggy San Diego! For one of my first activities here at Comic-Con, I attended a panel led by Entertainment Weekly titled "Wonder Women: Female Power Icons in Pop Culture" and featuring Sigourney Weaver, Eliza Dushku, Zoe Saldana and Elizabeth Mitchell in the hot seats.
The lively discussion began with appreciative cheers for each woman and a standing ovation for Sigourney Weaver, which, to be honest, made me feel a little choked up, right off the bat.

Considering that television holds second-rate status to film in a lot of people's minds, it's amazing to think of all of the stellar silver screen actresses who are currently working on TV. In a recent panel organized by The Hollywood Reporter, a whole bunch of them — including Sigourney Weaver, Regina King, January Jones, Anna Paquin, Rose Byrne, and Mary McDonnell — talked about the great roles available for women on the small screen right now.
That got me wondering if TV is providing actresses with better opportunities than film.

The 2009 award season officially kicked off in NYC last night with some of the faces we'll be seeing a lot of over the next few months. Penelope Cruz and Sean Penn were among the winners at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. Josh Brolin also won an acting award for Milk and shared the love with his costar on the red carpet.
