Trend Alert: Black Eyeliner and Pink Lips Abound at the VMAs

Last night at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City, the most common makeup theme from the ladies on the red carpet was black, heavily lined eyes paired with pink lipstick. The eye style varied from dark and smoky on Kristin Cavallari to clean and winged on Madonna. Lips also came in a wide spectrum of shades ranging from candy floss pink on Solange Knowles to pinky-coral on Katy Perry. It's All Sparkle and Shine For the Ladies at the 2009 MTV VMAs

Whether they went short or long, the gorgeous girls on the red carpet at last night's VMAs sparkled in metallic hues. Taylor Swift led the glamorous parade in her floor-length gown, while Leighton Meester and Kristin Cavallari looked hot in their silvery dresses - both of them are doing well in Fab's best dressed poll, but who do you think deserves the title? Jennifer Lopez's featured an intricate neck, and the first of Ashley Greene's two looks of the evening had a gold skirt.

Stephanie Pratt stuck with the theme in her rhinestone-encrusted dress, while unintentional twins Pink and Shakira's dresses had a little gold embroidering. A few ladies paved their own ways style-wise - big winner of the evening Beyonce picked a bright red mini, Whitney Port stepped out in a black and white Christopher Kane, and Lauren Conrad picked a similarly simple short frock. We already know that Solange Knowles is one brave woman. It takes a lot of guts to take your hair from well beyond shoulder length to practically shaved off. I think the ultracropped style is really working for her, though. Seeing that Solange is not a shy one when it comes to experimenting with her beauty options, leave it to the singer to make tonight's red carpet appearance a dramatic one. Heavily done-up eye makeup, matte bubble-gum-pink lips, and distinctive eyebrows all play a part in Solange's bold style. Are you mad about matte?

Over the past few months, Solange Knowles has been playing around with various hairstyles. She went from sleek, straight and all one length in April, to cutting long, face framing layers and angled side-swept fringe in early July. Then, yesterday, we saw her at Dita Von Teese's "Cointreau Teese" party in Hollywood with short, fashion forward looking blunt-cut fringe. Out of these three looks, which do you think suits Solange the best?

UPDATE: As it turns out, Solange has actually shaved off all of her hair and last night's look (far left) was just a wig. Check out the photo here - she sure fooled me!

Beyonce And Jay-Z Enjoy Bright And Sunny Britain

Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z were both spotted out and about in London yesterday, doing a little shopping in the British sunshine. They're over here at the moment as Beyonce is on tour - she appeared at the O2 Arena this weekend and the audience were treated to glimpses of her man, who was apparently centre stage as she made her entrance. Keeping it in the family, Beyonce's little sister Solange Knowles performed at the show's afterparty, and next stop on the tour is Manchester tonight! I adore Beyonce's matching shades and shoes, doesn't she look gorgeous?

Beyonce and Jay-Z Live It Up in London Town

Beyonce Knowles looked stylish in silver and white - get her look now - with Jay-Z as they headed back to their London hotel Sunday after a night out with her sister Solange at Bungalow 8. They're in England after a few days in Spain as Beyonce's European tour rolls on. Ireland is the next country on her itinerary, so hopefully, Jay-Z sticks around to keep being his wife's number one fan.

"Beautiful, gorgeous." If I had that yelled at me during a photo shoot on the beach in Malibu, I would be having fun too. Meet the posse of Op's "Summer of Music" ad campaign. AnnaLynne McCord, Sophia Bush, Solange Knowles, Joel Madden, Brody Jenner, Cody Linley, and Bow Wow got together on a not-so-warm day to act the part of pretty young things. This behind-the-scenes video shows group shots being snapped as well as a faux Good Charlotte concert. Everyone seems to really loosen up at the concert and have genuine fun - especially hottie Sophia Bush. 90210 vixen AnnaLynne McCord stated, "It’s a fun shoot to get together with all these actors and entertainers and get to do something where we are having a good time and be in fun clothes. I love the pink bathing suit and the little t-shirts and shorts, they were my favorites from the shoot." I love the pink bathing suit too . . .
