Talk about a power duo! Hollywood business titans, Spike Lee and Robert De Niro, are working together on a new series for Showtime called Alphaville. Set in New York's Alphabet City during the crime and drug-filled 80s, the show will focus on the diverse residents of the neighborhood.

Rihanna stepped out to do some solo shopping at Barneys yesterday, but on Monday night she was in plaid to check out a party hosted by Jay-Z at his Rocawear space in NYC. It's been a busy few days in the city for Jay-Z, after he recently gave Oprah a tour of his old Brooklyn neighborhood. While Beyonce was busy with her work obligations in Japan, Rihanna looked happy to come out and support his line.

For Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick, the action at the Knicks-Lakers game was in the audience as they publicly kissed in NYC last night. Ed had a steamy plotline on Gossip Girl, but in real life things aren't so mysterious anymore. We heard rumors about these two back in December and saw them out with Chace last Thursday, but these photos of them cuddling up, laughing, and drinking beer confirm it.

If you want a good star sighting, Staples center is the place to be, and last night's Knicks-Lakers game was packed with celebrity sports fans. The nail-biter of a game made for lots of animated faces but ultimately smiles when the Lakers prevailed. David Beckham sat next to David Arquette, while Leonardo DiCaprio looked a little worried as he stayed fixated on the court.

When Spike Lee adapted the novel Miracle at St. Anna, he intended to celebrate the memory of African-American soldiers trapped in an Italian village during World War II. He also ended up offending a whole different set of veterans.

The conflicted and heroic history of World War II's Buffalo Soldiers deserves to be told in a dramatic and thoughtful movie. Unfortunately, Miracle at St. Anna is neither of those things.
