Ryan Phillippe dove into his new role with multiple camera bags in Johannesburg, South Africa, yesterday. He's filming an independent movie called The Bang Bang Club with Malin Akerman and FNL star Taylor Kitsch, about a group of four photographers who win a Pulitzer for their work in the last days of apartheid-era South Africa. Ryan is far from home, but this sounds like the kind of work that should teach Ava and Deacon a valuable history lesson when they're old enough to see it.

Ryan Phillippe didn't need a wardrobe change last night as he went right from LAX to the club M16 in Hollywood. He returned to California after a trip to visit Abbie Cornish in Vancouver, and got right back into his usual socializing routine. Ryan's ready for time off after working on MacGruber and The Bang Bang Club over the Summer, and he also now has plenty of chances to see Ava and Deacon between his late evenings out.

Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards was filmed on Saturday night in LA and started with a bang when Mel Gibson came out riding a horse and wearing a viking hat. He introduced Brad Pitt to induct Fight Club into the Guy Movie Hall of Fame. Brad kept it sassy saying, "Thanks sugart*ts," making a jab at Mel's DUI arrest in 2006.

There are two kinds of parents: those who take trips and those who go on vacation. Every mom and pop deserves a break with their wee ones, but sometimes planning and plotting the excursion is more exhausting than just opting for a recession-friendly staycation. For family's looking to get the most bang for their buck and have things taken care of for them, all-inclusive resorts offer it all.

Deacon Phillippe was back in his world peace please t-shirt for an afternoon out in LA with Ava and Ryan yesterday. With Reese off in Europe with Jake, it looks like Ryan's in charge of the kids for the time being. Starting the new year off on the right foot doesn't have to be about New Year's resolutions — it can be taking a new route to work, joining a book club, or carrying a new purse — anything to break the monotony of 2008. I started '09 with a new hair cut so do tell, what personal adjustments did you make to start 2009 off with a bang?

This week each of our main Lipstick Jungle characters messed around in someone else's business (or had someone else mess around in theirs). Victory's ex-assistant came back to make Victory's life miserable, Wendy tried to kick-start her husband's music career, and Nico and Kirby continued alternately embracing and stomping all over each other's hearts. And that was just the basics.

You'd never guess it, but I love a good head-banging song; you know, something like "Back in Black" by AC/DC would definitely do the trick. Well this November, I'll really get to rock out since the AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack video game will be hitting store shelves. The game is playable with any compatible music instrument controller, and players who have Rock Band can import their tracks into this game.
