Having already given us the shortlist for the Best UK & Ireland New Act category, MTV has now announced the full list of nominations for the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. Tokio Hotel, Green Day and Leona Lewis are all confirmed to perform at the ceremony in Berlin on 5 November too. Lady GaGa and Kings of Leon lead the pack with five nominations each, while several of our British and Irish stars have nominations, including Robbie Williams, Coldplay, U2, La Roux, Pixie Lott, Little Boots and Leona Lewis.

MTV asked their British viewers to vote for their greatest superstar in a poll, and fans nationwide had their say in who their top entertainer is! Oasis, Madonna, Britney Spears, Robbie Williams, Queen, Girls Aloud and Take That were among those who made it into the top twenty — so check out my slideshow and let me know what you think of the list!

Superstar singers took to the stages in Chelmsford and Staffordshire for V Festival this weekend. Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Alesha Dixon impressed on stage in their outlandish outfits. Stereogum says this antisex-trafficking PSA will do more for the band behind it, The Killers, than promote awareness of the crime. A collaboration between UNICEF, MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking), and the US Agency for International Development, the video began airing yesterday on MTV stations around the world. Guess MTV does play videos!

The Killers are back with a new single and video for "The World We Live In" from their album Day & Age — it's their third single in Europe from the record. Brandon Flowers and his bandmates filmed the movie in the snowy Banff, Canada, so check it out and let me know what you think of the song. Will you spin it, or will you sling it?

- It's being reported that Jonathan Rhys-Meyers has allegedly checked into rehab. Concerns were raised when he failed to show at a couple of awards ceremonies, including the Irish Film and Television Awards where The Tudors won ten trophies. — Irish Independent

I'll be updating the winners of all the 2009 NME Awards in this post, so keep your eyes peeled and see if your favourite nominee took home the trophy you wanted them to! Muse beat out Radiohead, Oasis, The Killers and Kings Of Leon to the trophy for Best Live Act, as voted for by NME readers. Oasis have won the Best British Band gong, while Pete Doherty has picked up the Best Solo Act award!
