For the past five years, Wes Anderson's wide fan base has been waiting for his first fully animated film. Would his adaption of Roald Dahl's children's book, Fantastic Mr. Fox appease the same crowd that holds Bottle Rocket and The Royal Tenenbaums near and dear to their hearts? The answer is an emphatic yes, and the best news is that you don't even have to enjoy Anderson's other work to fall in love with this film.

George Clooney changed out of his casual clothes into black tie for The Fantastic Mr Fox premiere at the opening of the London Film Festival in Leicester Square last night. He was joined by Elisabetta Canali, who wore a black outfit like Cindy Crawford and Myleene Klass, while Sophie Dahl matched her dress to the red carpet. Sophie's step-grandmother Felicity was also at the premiere, and said the author of the original book Roald Dahl would have loved it.

George Clooney brought Elisabetta out for the premiere of The Fantastic Mr. Fox at the opening gala of the BFI Film Festival in London today. The two were joined by good friend Cindy Crawford as well as George's costar Jason Schwartzman. At this morning's press conference, George joked about playing the father fox on-screen, even saying he's looking to have some kids of his own.

George Clooney arrived in London yesterday and was up early this morning, looking dapper in his gray suit as he headed to the Dorchester hotel. He was out for a photo call promoting The Fantastic Mr. Fox, which premieres during the city's BFI Film Festival. George smiled alongside his costar in the animated film, Bill Murray, who looked a little protective of his mug.

Wes Anderson's adaptation of The Fantastic Mr Fox is something that has intrigued me since it was announced, and the trailer has just been released! Known for movies like Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums, Wes's take on the story is filmed in stop motion animation, starring George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray. It comes out on October 23 in the UK and I really like the feel of the trailer.

Some of my favorite directors are just rollin' out the trailers today — first the Coen brothers with A Serious Man, now Wes Anderson with his forthcoming project The Fantastic Mr. Fox. This animated film is based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name and follows a family of foxes and their animal associates as they struggle against the farmers who want to dig out their neighborhood.
I'm not sure whether the first word to describe this trailer should be "bizarre" or "hilarious" — but either way, I know I want to see this movie.

News about another Wes Anderson movie (even if it's not a Wes Anderson original) got me thinking about his ever-growing canon of work. I'll always be partial to Bottle Rocket because it was my first introduction to the brothers Wilson and I still crack up thinking about it, but I have a deep love for Rushmore, too. And who can deny the brilliance of The Royal Tenenbaums?

Reading the description of the 2006 French comedy Mon meilleur ami (My Best Friend), it sounds perfectly Wes Anderson-y, so it's no wonder that Anderson has signed on to write and possibly direct a remake of the film. Variety explains the movie's plot:
The French pic starred Daniel Auteuil as a cranky antiques dealer who learns at a dinner with his closest acquaintances that none of them really like him because of his harsh manner and selfishness. When his business partner bets him a valuable vase that he can’t produce a best friend, the dealer tries to get an amiable cab driver to pose as his buddy.

The lovably quirky men of The Darjeeling Limited premiered their movie at the London Film Festival last night. Owen Wilson was too busy with his dates with Jessica Simpson (and other ladies) to attend, but the rest of the guys were there to represent. Gotta love Wes and Jason's old school bow ties while Adrien went for a black leather ensemble instead of his cool metallic suit.
