You can count me among the fans — but not the super-fanatics — of The X-Files when it aired in the '90s. I may not have been as insane about it as others, but I kept up with the weird, spooky drama and I looked forward to new episodes. Plus, Gillian Anderson's character, Dana Scully, is a strong, female sci-fi heroine of sorts, and I really looked up to her at the time.

Here we are, 10 whole years after the last X-Files movie and fans of the show will finally get another (perhaps last?) taste of two of the most beloved sci-fi characters of our time: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. While X-Files: I Want to Believe is supposed to be a stand-alone story (so, you don't have to know the whole history of the show to enjoy it), I still think we could all use a little brush-up on our X-Files trivia.
If you, too, are hearing that spooky theme music in your head, take my quiz!

OK, X-philes, ready for the most exciting one minute and 30 seconds of your day? There's a new, official trailer out now for the upcoming X-Files movie and it's pretty great. There's more of what we saw in the teaser trailer (Billy Connolly being spooky, people frantically digging in the snow, etc.) but there are also more details and the creepiness factor has been upped.

Day 2 of WonderCon brought one of my favorite shows back to life when thousands of X-Files fans packed Moscone south to chat with stars Gillian Anderson, my fave geeky man David Duchovny, as well as writers Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz. Indulging us with some juicy bits about the upcoming movie, their feelings about re-entering the lives of Mulder and Scully, and insights to their own upcoming projects was the highlight of the convention for yours truly.
Thankfully, I got a seat relatively early, cause the place filled up quickly!

Not only did some new production stills come out today for the X-Files sequel, but new details about the plot have been revealed. Or, more specifically there are details about what's not going to be included in the next X-Files movie: mythology.
According to USA Today, this next movie "will dump the long-running 'mythology' plotline — that aliens live among us and are part of a colonizing effort — that made it one of the most popular television shows in the late 1990s but ultimately drove away some viewers who found it too complex and ambiguous."

As if David Duchovny's return to the small screen as one of the best characters ever (or at least of 2007) wasn't exciting enough - now the X-Files movie is finally filming! Earlier this week we got the exciting news that the cast has grown including Amanda Peet as an agent! It's been way too long since Mulder and Scully paired up but considering the craziness of the writers' strike, we're happy to hear that some films weren't delayed, especially this one.

BuzzSugar declared Californication as one of the reasons to watch TV this summer and we're counting down to the premiere along with our favorite Showtime series, Weeds (now hopefully improved with the adorable MK!). We've been waiting for the return of David Duchovny ever since the season finale of X-Files in 2002. We got one X-Files movie, but we were told many more were to come to fruition.

The X Files: I Want To Believe premiered in London's Leicester Square last night, with the lovely and rather pregnant Gillian Anderson saying it was a bigger turnout than the LA premiere. She also said that they were on board for another movie if this one does well, and said this film is more of a "particular creepy story", which also develops Mulder and Scully's relationship rather than an all-out special effects blockbuster like the movie that's overshadowing everything at the moment: The Dark Knight.
Other stars in attendance included Tom Fletcher and Harry Judd from McFly who are still looking a little tanned after our jaunt to T4 On The Beach, Sam and Amanda Marchant, Chanelle Hayes and a very demure looking Mary Elizabeth Winstead who I have an exclusive interview with for you later on today!
