"Being a woman in music was fine, but when I wanted to direct, I was poking my head into a man's world. 'What do you mean you're going to direct? Women are the actresses, they're frivolous, not the ones responsible for finances.'

This chick. For the most "absolutely fascinating" six seconds of B-movie acting to ever hit the small screen.

Yet another bit of evidence to support my conspiracy theory: whether they're happy or sad, the little heathens cannot be trusted.

It was Take That and Elton John week on The X Factor, with the finalists each singing two songs — one from each artist. Rihanna and Alicia Keys performed on tonight's show, which was the first where the entire elimination was down to the public vote with the judges having no input. Lloyd was announced as the act that would leave the competition, which wasn't really a surprise after the reactions to his performances on Saturday night.

I've been anxiously anticipating Jason Reitman's third film, Up in the Air, from the moment I first read about the project. With George Clooney on board I was practically giddy, so imagine how excited I was to have the opportunity to talk to the director himself when he stopped in San Francisco during his promotional tour.
The film is one of the many buzz-worthy December movies, and it opens in limited release this Friday.

I'm big on fitness classes, but tend to stick with Pilates, yoga, or something slower-paced — usually afraid that I won't be able to keep up with a class that requires any dance technique. My exercise solution came in the form of Crunch's Cardio Tai Box class — a class that gets you moving without a required-knowledge of dance choreography. All you need to know?

Orson may have been the one talking about suicide a few weeks ago, but on the latest episode of Desperate Housewives, Danny (or should I say Tyler?) and Katherine both come close to taking their own lives. Elsewhere on Wisteria Lane, the Scavos' feud with the Solises gets even uglier and Susan finally discovers Bree's affair with Karl.
It's all leading up to the big plane crash we've been hearing about for months, but for now let's recap all the latest scandal and drama.

It was George Michael week on The X Factor, with the finalists singing a mix of his solo material and songs from his Wham! days. Susan Boyle and Mariah Carey performed on tonight's show, where we also found out that the finalists' charity single for Great Ormond Street Hospital — "We Are not Alone" — is number one in the charts!

While the weather continues to be dreary, T4's Stars of 2009 event yesterday brought in some rays of sunshine for the crowd as a selection of fab pop acts performed at Earl's Court. Florence & the Machine, The Saturdays, Sugababes, Kasabian, N-Dubz and JLS were among the bands that performed at the show, while Tinchy Stryder, Ke$ha, Alexandra Burke, Paloma Faith, X Factor's Jamie Archer, Chipmunk and La Roux also treated the audience to their hits.
The show was presented by Rick Edwards, Steve Jones, Miquita Oliver and Jameela Jamil.

HBO is hosting a special tonight to celebrate the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th Anniversary, and the line-up is star-studded. U2, Metallica, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, and other acts each have a segment of the show where they'll be rocking their music, along with a few tunes by other artists who have inspired their work.
I'm glad to see Bruce and his boys here after hearing they might not perform together anytime soon, but what I'm most psyched to watch is the evening's unique musical pairings: Stevie Wonder and John Legend are teaming up to perform "The Way You Make Me Feel," Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Billy Joel have a duet to "New York State of Mind," and U2, Mick Jagger, and the Black Eyed Peas are coming together for "Gimme Shelter."
