When you meet someone new, how do you add him or her to your phone's address book? I'm not talking friends or relatives — I'm talking about people you meet through friends, new business contacts, or anyone else whose number you want to save but aren't planning to become their best friend.
I recently started doing something new: if I meet someone new and want to store their number, I add their first name and, instead of their last, a detail of how I met them.

I find myself constantly cutting and pasting web addresses for work and for play - hey, we all need to share fun links with friends! Here is a helpful hint so that you can quickly import URL's to office files and other locations.
Open the office file that needs the web address
Click and hold the page icon which is located to the left of the page's URL on the address bar (I have circled it in pink above)
Then drag the page icon to the program where you need the address
If your destination window happens to be covered, then first drag the Page Icon down to the task bar and pause over the program you're trying to reach.

When someone asks for my email address, I have a quick debate: work email or personal email? Before, it was school email or personal email? Now with all my social networks, I feel like I have a million other inboxes to check too.

Sometimes, a business plan needs to factor in how the company's name is going to look in the URL. Here are some unfortunate examples from folks who didn't think it through too much...

Dating in the digital age is tough; this we know. Add multiple technologies and methods of communicating into the mix, and things can get downright ugly — remember the quote from Drew Barrymore's character from He's Just Not That Into You? I've offered some of my best dating advice for dealing with modern-day dating challenges in my Tech Dating 101 series.

I have finally gotten used to the weekly, "Did you get my email?" phone calls from my mother. Predictably, every Sunday around late afternoon, she calls to tell me about something cute my nieces have done, or fill me in on the latest gossip about someone I went to high school with.

There are many reasons why Gmail is the best free email service on the Internet, but I'll save my diatribe about that for another day. If you were already thinking of switching to Google's email, they've just rolled out a new feature that automatically imports all your mail and contacts from your old email account — be it Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, and more, into your spankin' new Gmail account, no complicated extra steps necessary.
They're even letting you forward your old mail into your new Gmail account for 30 days, so you can test out Gmail and start replying to those emails with your new address.

Sitting around with the family watching football is a favored Thanksgiving tradition. But new research reveals that football spectating is not always pleasant: losses have a statistical link to a rise in domestic violence. The study, which matched 12 years worth of team records with local domestic violence rates, suggests that a painful loss can trigger moments of anger in fans, causing them to lash out.

With Cameron gone, the new (old) team is still working out the kinks in this week's House — and it feels like the writers aren't sure where the show's going either. The episode tackles a genius patient with what appears to be TTP, Thanksgiving, and House and Cuddy all in one swoop. And while the doc is back to acting like a selfish jerk following his recent good behavior, I didn't even find his quips that amusing.
