A Gilmore Girls Movie — Yay or Nay?
You may recall that Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator behind Gilmore Girls, left the show shortly before its final season because of disagreements with Warner Bros — but now, she reveals in a recent interview that she'd like to bring back Lorelai and Rory to the big screen!
I hope that some Hollywood studios are listening, and take her up on her suggestion. While it's just a wish of hers (and mine) at the moment, I miss the pop culture quips and sweet relationship moments that the Gilmore women delivered each week.
This Week's Fab Faves
It's been a busy week with the start of New York Fashion Week, but you better believe I've been keeping a close eye on those stylish celebs. This week's gang is mostly fancied up — George Clooney's girl Elisabetta Canalis worked the red carpet in teal blue Roberto Cavalli, Eva Mendes balanced sexy and elegant, and Penelope Cruz experimented with a new color. But in my humble opinion, Alexis Bledel stole the show in her one-shoulder Christian Siriano.
Charlize and Blake Are First in the Fashion Department
Saks Fifth Avenue was the hot spot in NYC last night, with Blake Lively and Charlize Theron heading out to celebrate the opening of their new designer floor. They were joined by Alexis Bledel and Rachel Zoe, who's already a familiar face around the week's various fashion parties. Penn Badgley was also in attendance, escorting Blake to their second bash of the evening.
Alexis Bledel's Navy Draped Dress: Love It or Hate It?
I'm usually a huge advocate of Alexis Bledel's unique red carpet ensembles but this particular one left me hanging. The actress wore a navy draped dress by Sachin and Babi for Ankasa, black satin sandals, and a rad studded clutch to the screening of her new Post Grad flick — can't wait to see the movie. I appreciate the avant-garde aesthetic and metallic embellishments, but I'm not a huge fan of the longer hemline and the draped pleating at the hips.
2009 Teen Choice Awards: Arrivals and Winners!
The 2009 Teen Choice Awards took place yesterday in LA, with all the stars of the past year's charts, movies and TV shows turning up to be awarded by teens. The show is yet to air in both the US and UK, but Twilight took home a whole host of awards (check out the winners list under the cut for spoilers) as did Gossip Girl and the Jonas Brothers. Kristen Stewart looked like she was taking tips from Robert Pattinson with her big hair, and wore a seriously cool spiky skirt, while Leighton looked sexy in stripes!
The Ladies Choose Short at the Teen Choice Awards
Last night's Teen Choice Awards brought many lovely ladies onto the grass carpet. Short and sweet was the theme of the evening, with most of the stars choosing something perfect for the hot Summer day. Britney Spears and Fergie opted for embellished LBDs, while Kim Kardashian showed off her new hair color in a white number.
Teen Choice Awards: Best Dressed
While there were lots of winners at the Teen Choice Awards, only one lovely lady will take home the award for best dressed. Black and white seemed to work the best on the green grass carpet. Jordana, Leighton, and Emma all showed different takes on the classic color combo.

Alexis Bledel showed off her baby blues tonight wearing a silk and lace Opening Ceremony cobalt dress. For a quirky cute touch, the Post Grad star dressed her feet with a pair of bright orange and light gray patent leather sandals by Loeffler Randall. Of course, I love it — she stepped out of the sexy mini dress box — do you?

Instead of going for a flashy look, she's chosen to show off her milky complexion and bright eyes by going with a simple, elegant makeup look. A simple chignon goes from blah to beautiful with the addition of a braid up front.

It's hard to break out of the cutesy child actor box once you've wedged yourself into it but Post Grad star, Alexis Bledel, is up for the challenge. The 27-year-old actress and former Gillmore Girl has since moved on to embrace a more stylish and sophisticated demeanor as proven in this fun '80s-inspired photo shoot.
“I try to get away from the way people see me on the show in little ways, try to dress older or just differently,” says Bledel.
