A Gilmore Girls Movie - Yay or Nay?

You may recall that Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator behind Gilmore Girls, left the show shortly before its final season because of disagreements with Warner Bros - but now, she reveals in a recent interview that she'd like to bring back Lorelai and Rory to the big screen!

I hope that some Hollywood studios are listening, and take her up on her suggestion. While it's just a wish of hers (and mine) at the moment, I miss the pop culture quips and sweet relationship moments that the Gilmore women delivered each week. A movie version probably wouldn't be a box office blockbuster, but I'm sure it would help satisfy GG fans who felt disappointed when Sherman-Palladino wasn't around to tie up the show's loose ends when it was still on TV.

It's been a busy week with the start of New York Fashion Week, but you better believe I've been keeping a close eye on those stylish celebs. This week's gang is mostly fancied up - George Clooney's girl Elisabetta Canalis worked the red carpet in teal blue Roberto Cavalli, Eva Mendes balanced sexy and elegant, and Penelope Cruz experimented with a new color. But in my humble opinion, Alexis Bledel stole the show in her one-shoulder Christian Siriano. I mean, between the red lips, the two-tone frock, and the red pumps, it's perfection. Charlize and Blake Are First in the Fashion Department

Saks Fifth Avenue was the hot spot in NYC last night, with Blake Lively and Charlize Theron heading out to celebrate the opening of their new designer floor. They were joined by Alexis Bledel and Rachel Zoe, who's already a familiar face around the week's various fashion parties. Penn Badgley was also in attendance, escorting Blake to their second bash of the evening. Blake's expected to turn out at Ralph Lauren later today for Fashion's Night Out, and make sure to stay tuned as we bring you all the details from the star-studded citywide event.

Alexis Bledel's Navy Draped Dress: Love It or Hate It?

I'm usually a huge advocate of Alexis Bledel's unique red carpet ensembles but this particular one left me hanging. The actress wore a navy draped dress by Sachin and Babi for Ankasa, black satin sandals, and a rad studded clutch to the screening of her new Post Grad flick - can't wait to see the movie. I appreciate the avant-garde aesthetic and metallic embellishments, but I'm not a huge fan of the longer hemline and the draped pleating at the hips. Maybe it would look better cinched in with a belt? Tell me what you think!

2009 Teen Choice Awards: Arrivals and Winners!

The 2009 Teen Choice Awards took place yesterday in LA, with all the stars of the past year's charts, movies and TV shows turning up to be awarded by teens. The show is yet to air in both the US and UK, but Twilight took home a whole host of awards (check out the winners list under the cut for spoilers) as did Gossip Girl and the Jonas Brothers. Kristen Stewart looked like she was taking tips from Robert Pattinson with her big hair, and wore a seriously cool spiky skirt, while Leighton looked sexy in stripes!

Guests included Zac Efron, Britney Spears, Megan Fox, Black Eyed Peas, Vanessa Hudgens, Hugh Jackman and many more. Miley Cyrus hosted the ceremony - don't forget to check back for some photos from the show itself later on today!

The Ladies Choose Short at the Teen Choice Awards

Last night's Teen Choice Awards brought many lovely ladies onto the grass carpet. Short and sweet was the theme of the evening, with most of the stars choosing something perfect for the hot Summer day. Britney Spears and Fergie opted for embellished LBDs, while Kim Kardashian showed off her new hair color in a white number. Vanessa Hudgens went with pretty blue, while Kristen Stewart took a break from chilling with Robert Pattinson and continued with her Joan Jett rock-star look in her metal-fringed Rock & Republic frock. How did she sit in that dress?

Emma Roberts and Miley Cyrus accented their outfits with statement jewelry, while Audrina Patridge was all about purple with her dress and clutch. While there were lots of winners at the Teen Choice Awards, only one lovely lady will take home the award for best dressed. Black and white seemed to work the best on the green grass carpet. Jordana, Leighton, and Emma all showed different takes on the classic color combo. Ashley Tisdale rocked our worlds with her two-tone dress and rad accessories, while Alexis delivered some much needed quirk. I think I have a feeling who takes home this crown . . .

Alexis Bledel Plays Dress-Up

It's hard to break out of the cutesy child actor box once you've wedged yourself into it but Post Grad star, Alexis Bledel, is up for the challenge. The 27-year-old actress and former Gillmore Girl has since moved on to embrace a more stylish and sophisticated demeanor as proven in this fun '80s-inspired photo shoot.

“I try to get away from the way people see me on the show in little ways, try to dress older or just differently,” says Bledel. “I try not to wear anything that makes me look too young because that only aggravates the idea that I’m young and sweet like my character on [Gilmore Girls].” Alexis's recent red-carpet looks had me awed but seeing her in a leather YSL unitard is an entirely different story . . .
