Rihanna Leads the Way With Amazing Women For Glamour

Rihanna stole the show in her dramatic white dress as she and her fellow honorees took the red carpet at last night's Glamour Women of the Year celebration in NYC. Carnegie Hall was brimming with beautiful ladies from Iman to Maria Shriver and Diane von Furstenberg. Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out in blue and had Michael Douglas by her side for support. Rih was just one of a handful of women who were chosen by the magazine, but all eyes were on her - and most of you are loving the look, just the latest in her fashion metamorphosis!

Padma Lakshmi showed off her growing baby bump while one of the evening's honorees Stella McCartney smiled big with her award up on stage where she also had some trouble with her super short skirt. Amy Poehler and Michelle Obama were two of the magazine's other women of the year, though the First Lady didn't attend the event since she was with her husband President Barack Obama visiting with families at Fort Hood. The night was full of inspirational and important females who spoke and mingled, celebrating each other and Glamour's picks. Rihanna has come out strong opening up about her difficult year and what all this means to her – check out Rih's heartfelt speech after the jump.

Rihanna and Stella Join Fellow Women of Year

Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year gathered at Carnegie Hall in New York City yesterday to celebrate each other's successes. Rihanna and Stella McCartney were amongst those honoured, and were joined by Estelle, who performed on stage. Gorgeous Gals and Guys Walk the Emmy Awards Red Carpet

Stars of the small screen flocked to the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles yesterday for the Primetime Emmy Awards. Our own Brits Cat Deeley and Ricky Gervais joined their American pals for the glamourous ceremony, which saw the guys stick to black suits and the women dazzle in an array of colouful dresses. Cat went for a pale floor-length number, while Gossip Girl buddies Leighton Meester and Blake Lively took opposite approaches with white and red. Heidi Klum showed off her baby bump in a tight black dress, while Drew Barrymore opted for a fairytale-style gown. Vote on all the fashion choices and beauty looks in Fab and Bella's polls.

A whole host of men wore smart suits for the ceremony, with Ricky Gervais keeping his eyes shielded on the red carpet with sunnies. Host Neil Patrick Harris, John Krasinski and Justin Timberlake all looked gorgeous in their shirts and ties. NPH Hosts and Jokes His Way Through Mad Men, 30 Rock's Big Emmy Night!

Neil Patrick Harris was the star of the night at yesterday's Primetime Emmy Awards. He hosted the long show and managed to keep things interesting with his constant jokes and hours of preparation looking up the tiniest, most obscure roles on all the presenters' resumes to introduce them with. Check out all the winners here. Blake Lively and Leighton Meester looked gorgeous together as they took the stage to hand out an Emmy, though their show might not ever be up for any. Jessica Lange beat out her costar Drew Barrymore but the close friends looked overjoyed and the night's cutest acceptance speech might just go to a teary Kristin Chenoweth.

Justin Timberlake was all over the awards with his multiple nominations, though he didn't take any home he did win an Emmy last weekend. Heidi Klum and Seal shared a kiss in the audience, which is a lot less stressful than where she was last year up on stage as one of the hosts. Mad Men and 30 Rock took home the awards for best Drama and Comedy series respectively, but Jon Hamm and Tina Fey didn't win Actor or Actress. While the show was up against some tough competition with Sunday Night Football, NPH did a great job keeping the awards fun, funny and livelier than they've been in years.

Blake Adds a Dash of Color to the Emmys Red Carpet

There were many gorgeous fashions on display last night on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards. In the first installment of our look at what the ladies wore there was a lot of black or white, but not at all basic - Amy Poehler went dark, January Jones picked a light color with a daring cutout bodice, and Chloe Sevigny had a little bit of both worlds with her polka dot number. Right now January has a slight lead in Fab's best dressed poll - who do you think deserves the title? Drew Barrymore switched things up a little with her peach gown, but it was Blake Lively who stopped traffic in her plunging Versace. Jason and Mila Screen Extract With Funny People, but No Ben

Jason Bateman and Mila Kunis hit the red carpet last night at the LA premiere of Extract. Their costar Ben Affleck wasn't around due to his work commitments in Boston, but Mila and Jason were joined by Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, and Simon Pegg. 90210's Jessica Stroup skipped out on the Nylon party her castmates were at to attend the screening. The film hits theaters Sept. 4, and after Buzz posted the preview a few months ago we're curious to see more.

Funny Ladies: Ageism Is No Joke

It ain't easy being a funny woman in Hollywood. We've often heard how few good roles are written for women over 35, but the facts really hit home in this video from The Hollywood Reporter's Emmy roundtable featuring women in comedy.

In it, Sarah Silverman talks about auditioning to play Jonah Hill's mother, and Amy Poehler points out that she was just eight years older than Rachel McAdams, who played her daughter in Mean Girls. Not surprisingly, the women lighten the weighty topic with plenty of humor. When Christina Applegate says she was told she was too old for a magazine cover, Silverman jokes "and it was More!"

But seriously, why are women this awesome so often considered over the hill? Why is it easier for men to grow older in Tinseltown?
