Exclusive Fab Interview with Angelina Jolie's Stylist Jennifer Rade

Longtime stylist Jennifer Rade calls herself the Wicked Witch of Wardrobe, and I'll add to that the busiest stylist working today. I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer a few years back at a Gap Bra Bar event for which she was the spokesperson. I recall the sassy stylist referring to Angelina Jolie, whom she works with closely, simply as Angie. In addition, she's styled music videos (Avril Lavigne, Marilyn Manson, Pink) and commercials, the most recent one being the Jovovich-Hawk for Target one. Jen took a few minutes out of her hectic day to chat with Fab about Angie, her style icons, and what every girl should carry in their purse.

What are your three favorite Angelina Jolie outfits that you've styled?

I think Oscars from 2004 (the cream Marc Bouwer), Mr. & Mrs. Smith premiere (the leather Versace), and Ocean's 13 premiere in Cannes (yellow Peter Dundas for Ungaro).

If your house was burning down and you only had time to save one clothing item, what would it be and why?

Tough question. I would probably try to grab my great grandmother's purses since they've been around so long. Really, I would save nothing other than myself, my husband, and our dogs, because clothing is replaceable.

What should every girl have in their purse in case of a fashion emergency?

Double sided fashion tape or toupee tape, like Hollywood Fashion Tape, Topstick, or Bug Catcherz. It's like the duct tape of the fashion world!

As a stylist, do you feel the pressure of always dressing uniquely?

No. I dress in a casual and classic style. Cool flats (I am obsessed with Elisa Ferare!) with great jeans (J Brand skinny, Paige boot cut, Ranahan Wide Leg) and a simple top. Maybe a cool accessory like a vintage necklace or a few stacking rings from Tiffany or Gurhan or J. Herwitt.

Who are your style icons and what do you admire so much about them?

Wow, this is so hard. Katharine Hepburn, a pioneer and so classic and timeless. Talitha Getty, just cool and bohemian. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: I love that they do their own thing and take chances. Kate Moss because she wears clothes, they never wear her. Princess Diana, Catherine Deneuve, Diane Von Furstenberg, Sophia Loren . . . it's kind of an endless list.

Can you take me behind the scenes of the Target commercials?

I recently styled the new Jovovich-Hawk for Target commercial and it was so fun! Carmen and Milla are so funny and the clothes are awesome! I love working with Target, great company, great ad agency, and we always have a great time working together.

A while back, I interviewed Angelina Jolie's stylist Jennifer Rade. I recently ran into her again at a Marciano event, and she had lots more to say about "Angie." Jen had just flown in from NYC, where she worked with Angelina on her Changeling red carpet look. She and the actress dreamed up the custom-made Versace LBD together. So why did Angelina play it safe? Jen explained that while most people only have a strong eye, a strong jawline, or a strong lip, Angelina has them all.

Therefore, she wears minimal, classic clothing that lets her features shine. Makes sense. Jen has suggested frillier frocks to her client, but to no avail. She even pulled a colorful cocktail dress from the closest rack and we agreed it would be too busy for Angelina. Now if only the actress had been there to put in her two cents!

Angelina Jolie Talks About Adopting Another Child

Angelina Jolie looked beautiful and happy back in New York to stop by The Today Show and chat with Matt Lauer this morning. Angelina was promoting Changeling and spoke again about how it is "horrifying" as a mother to think about anything happening to your children. After seeing Angelina and the kids through Brad's eyes in W Magazine, here's even more about the famous family and their plans to expand. You can watch the full interview after the jump. Here are highlights:

On adopting again: "Yeah, I have something in mind. You can't even start the process until any new children are six months old, to understand how the new family has settled. [. . .] It's a smart thing . . . to understand when to bring another child in."
On the twins: "We have so many children that they're not really stunned anymore when kids come home. [. . .] They're all at that great age that they are not threatened. They're independent. They don't need Mommy and Daddy all the time and to be able to enjoy the kids. They play with them, they change their diapers, they call them their babies, and they dress them up and you know, they have fun with them."
On moving all the time: "The children will probably dictate. We talk about one day, they'll probably want to stay in one place for a very long time, as they start to get certain friends," Jolie says, "So far we've just moved them a lot. They like packing their bags before the next adventure, and like making new friends wherever we go. I think . . . we'd like to maintain that . . . we'd like them to be those kind of adults, where they can find home wherever they are in the world, where they can find friends wherever they are in the world."

Angelina Talks Love in Brad's Eyes and African Barbies

Angelina Jolie sat down for yet another interview to promote Changeling, but mostly talked about her family - though the real secret is how she's working out these days. While Brad supposedly got upset with Jennifer Aniston for her "uncool" Angelina comment, Jen talked to Oprah about how it was taken out of context, so hopefully everyone can move on. Meanwhile Angelina had some adorable things to say about Zahara and Maddox. Here's more:

On how she stays positive: "By doing the things which are important and meaningful to you and not worrying about the rest. How can I complain about anything when I wake up in the morning and I'm surrounded by so much love with Brad and our children and the feeling that comes from sharing my life with them?"
On teaching her multi-cultural children: "I want to teach them about all religions, and I'm trying to find a way to do that. And when it comes to the subject of adoption, like when my daughter, who's African, wants her hair to look straight like mummy's . . . and I look for a Barbie that's African, and the African Barbie has straight hair! And you know, why has Disney never made a film with an African-American princess?"

On her life right now: "This is such a beautiful time for me. When I look back on my life, I never really believed that I would find this kind of happiness on so many different levels. I think I trained myself to expect less, but meeting Brad and being with him has shown me that sometimes it just takes the right circumstances for you to meet a good man who enjoys being with you and working towards the same goals in life. Brad has always been there for me."
On Maddox and Changeling: "What made it particularly troubling for me to put myself into this woman's head was my own relationship with my son Maddox. I just couldn't shake the thought of him through the whole film. Because Maddox is my eldest and also because he says things that are similar to what the boy in the film says. I also talk to Maddox the same way I talk to the little boy. So when Brad and I saw the movie we noticed strange similarities, especially when the boy says: 'Am I too heavy?' Mad says that all the time. And I tell him: 'Oh, never! But one day you're going to carry me!'"

As always, Angelina seems blissful and in love with her life right now, so hopefully all of the old emotions that have been stirred up this past week are on their way to being ancient history just like all that old drama.

Which Brad and Angelina Interview Do You Prefer - Friendly or B*tchy?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made headlines when they snubbed Ryan Seacrest on the Golden Globes red carpet, so tonight at the SAGs they made a few interview stops. They talked to Lisa Rinna for the TV Guide channel as a duo and were happy to laugh and smile throughout the interview. They also stopped by to talk to Giuliana Rancic from E! and, well to say they were chilly is an understatement. It’s kind of hilarious to watch the two, interviewed separately and seeming to hate every second of the interview. So watch both interviews below and tell us - do you prefer the friendly interview or the awesomely bitchy one?

Jet-Lagged Angelina Likes Hollywood But Traveling More

Angelina Jolie has been all over these days talking about her family, movies, and life choices. While her candid nature may not go over well with everyone, any peek into the Jolie-Pitts' unique life is welcome, especially with swirling rumors that there may already be plans for the next addition. In yet another new interview, Angelina admits that they're a family suffering in one way - jet lag. Here are highlights:

On her schedule: "I woke up at 3 in the morning with four kids with jet lag and two babies. I put myself together for a few hours and go out. And then I go home. This is my job."
On playing mothers on screen: "I don't think it's a choice of mine as much as it is something women deal with when we get older. A woman in her 30s is more likely to have roles that in some way relate to family."
On Changeling: "I got pregnant right in the middle of it and I think partially because of it . . . I was so emotional about children that I think something in me kicked into gear."
On LA: "I don't dislike it here. I just really do love to travel. I love other cultures. And I love raising my kids in the world. I'm so fortunate that I get to do that."

It's more of the same from Angelina who has nothing but glowing things to say about her nomadic family and many projects. While Changeling is still doing well in its theaters, we'll see if her name really makes the short list when award season comes.

Angelina Reveals How Brad Changed Her Life

Angelina Jolie's breastfeeding W Magazine cover made headlines and sparked controversy yesterday, and while most of you thought it was tasteful, it's not the only intimate part of Angelina we'll see. We're still awaiting the full 21-page spread, but in the interview, she talks about her family, her relationship, and why she changed her mind about having children after publicly stating she would only adopt. Here's more:

On deciding to get pregnant: "I think one of the life changing things that he did, one of many, is that I was absolutely never going to get pregnant. I never felt that it was the right thing to do . . . [Brad] stopped talking about having other kids in the other way [by natural birth]. So I suppose in my heart, I realized that he was happy with them as his children, completely. I knew he would never see them as different, and that gave me a certain peace. Then I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to [getting pregnant]. I suddenly wanted to. It's one of those things you can't explain."
On looking back at her decision: "Now I wouldn't trade that experience for the world. It taught me a lot about life, just the process of it, and now we have three other beautiful children that wouldn't otherwise be here."

Angelina had much more to say on Brad being the perfect partner, why she feels sexier than ever, and the twins' personalities so just read more.

On her relationship: "I do think that I'm in a good partnership now . . . I think it just needed to be the right man. It's not just that I love being in Brad's company, which obviously I do, but it's that we both roll up our sleeves and take on what we care about in the same way. I have a lot of respect for him, and he helps me to be better and fight hard for things that I love."
On feeling sexier post-pregnancy: "I'm with a man who's evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful because of the journey it has taken and what it has created. He genuinely sees it that way. So I genuinely feel sexier."
On getting paid millions for the twins' pictures: "There's nothing to say other than it's bizarre. But we're happy that we have our hands on it to distribute it to people we think are worthy, rather than some paparazzi."

Angelina described Knox as "very chill" and said he "loves music" like his father, and that Vivienne is "more demanding" and "sturdier." She loves to talk about her family, but we're most excited to see the full set of photos, which hopefully includes more of a look at their newest additions.

Angelina Jolie Is Still a Punk Kid at Heart

Angelina Jolie looks stunning thanks to her serene eyes on the December UK Harper's Bazaar cover. While Changeling opened at number four in last weekend's box office, it was number one in terms of per location sales. Even after so many interviews, Angelina still finds a way to surprise us talking about her life. Here are some highlights:

On her children understanding violence: "Listen, my kids play video games. I let them play with toy soldiers. We don't take war and violence lightly, but we don't hide it from anybody. We say, 'Mommy and Daddy have movies where we play these characters, but there's real death and violence in the world.' There's a real responsibility there to create in their minds the difference between the two."
On the women she portrays: "I tell stories that are about the type of woman I'd want to meet. The type of woman where I think, even if it's silly characters I've played, like in Tomb Raider, there's something about her that will be fun for my daughters to see one day."
On her humanitarian work: "I do what I want to do because I love it. I got into the field years ago because I wanted to understand what was happening in the world and I love spending time with refugees. Selfishly, it's the most I've ever grown, the most I've ever learned, and some of the best times I've ever had speaking with other human beings."
On her personality: "I don't walk around feeling I need to apologize or explain myself. [...] I am still, at heart – and always will be – just a punk kid with tattoos."

While Angelina has come a long way since her wild child ways, it's interesting to see what characteristics she has maintained in her adult life. One thing's for sure though - all those years ago, it would have been surprising to consider she'd ever be spending Halloween quietly trick or treating with her adorable family and partner Brad Pitt.

Angelina Talks Action Movies and Rolling Around With Brad

Angelina's pregnancy may prevent her from walking the red carpets for her upcoming movie Wanted, but she did a few interviews in advance to help promote it. During the Cannes Film Festival, Angelina sat down with MTV News to dish about the movie and working with James McAvoy - but couldn't help incorporating her family into the conversation a little, too. Here's more:

On doing an action movie with James McAvoy in comparison to Brad Pitt: "Well, you know Brad was ... [Laughs] I'll always prefer rolling around on the floor with him than any other man. You know, in general."
On gunplay: "I mean, obviously, there's a part of me that takes the world of violence and death very seriously. However, when it comes to protection or when it comes to just the skill of shooting ... I've gone to the range with sniper rifles and things like that. Brad and I both like it a lot. That is something we have in common."
On making movies: " [It's] not the thing you love the most. I love being a mom and I do love traveling and the work I get to do with children in the field and with refugees. Brad and I take turns working. So instead of it being, 'I get to work next,' it's, 'You have to work next, because it's your turn. I'm staying home with the kids.'"

While we know gunplay is something literally close to Angelina's heart, with two more on the way we imagine it may be a little while before we see another big action movie from her. For now waiting to meet the two new Jolie-Pitts we're excited to see how her latest shoot 'em up flick fares on the big screen.
