Get Inked For Mother's Day

There are lots of celebrities that sport ink to honor their children. Think Julia Roberts's lower-back tattoos and Angelina Jolie's upper-arm designs, which show the birthplace coordinates of each of her six youngsters. But, there are also lots of regular people who sport ink to honor their mothers. Quite frankly, nothing shows mom how much you love her like a little permanent ink, from elaborate floral detailing to the more hardcore edgy designs. So, in honor of Mother's Day, I've gathered together some tats that show just how much the following people heart their moms.

Angelina Glows as the Jolie-Pitts Take Over the Big Apple

Angelina took the three oldest Jolie-Pitts out to Lee's Art Shop in Manhattan before meeting up with Brad for dinner at Nobu and her premiere of Changeling this weekend. Angelina looked stunning showing off her post-baby body for her first red carpet appearance since the twins were born. Angelina also showed off her two latest tattoos on her arm - the coordinates to Knox and Vivienne's birthplace. While Angelina said she and Brad would eventually have more kids, she did admit they were planning to wait a little while. She also discussed how it felt strange walking the carpet and being sleep deprived, all while letting us know everyone was doing great.

Angelina Jolie Is Still a Punk Kid at Heart

Angelina Jolie looks stunning thanks to her serene eyes on the December UK Harper's Bazaar cover. While Changeling opened at number four in last weekend's box office, it was number one in terms of per location sales. Even after so many interviews, Angelina still finds a way to surprise us talking about her life. Here are some highlights:

On her children understanding violence: "Listen, my kids play video games. I let them play with toy soldiers. We don't take war and violence lightly, but we don't hide it from anybody. We say, 'Mommy and Daddy have movies where we play these characters, but there's real death and violence in the world.' There's a real responsibility there to create in their minds the difference between the two."
On the women she portrays: "I tell stories that are about the type of woman I'd want to meet. The type of woman where I think, even if it's silly characters I've played, like in Tomb Raider, there's something about her that will be fun for my daughters to see one day."
On her humanitarian work: "I do what I want to do because I love it. I got into the field years ago because I wanted to understand what was happening in the world and I love spending time with refugees. Selfishly, it's the most I've ever grown, the most I've ever learned, and some of the best times I've ever had speaking with other human beings."
On her personality: "I don't walk around feeling I need to apologize or explain myself. [...] I am still, at heart – and always will be – just a punk kid with tattoos."

While Angelina has come a long way since her wild child ways, it's interesting to see what characteristics she has maintained in her adult life. One thing's for sure though - all those years ago, it would have been surprising to consider she'd ever be spending Halloween quietly trick or treating with her adorable family and partner Brad Pitt.

Lindsay Says I Love You With a Tattoo

While Lindsay Lohan went for a classically stunning red carpet look at the MTV Video Music Awards this weekend, it's her wild child side and willingness to experiment with beauty looks that I always find more interesting.

Even though Lindsay has remained coy about the exact nature of her relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson, she has revealed that Sam's indie girl tattoos inspired her to get a matching one done. The matching tattoos could well be a rock n roll beauty symbol of the girls' love, but either way it's somewhat surprising that Lindsay and Sam chose to go for quite common shapes.

"Samantha has a bunch of stars, so I got that," Lindsay tells US Marie Claire in their October issue. Then, pointing to a little heart, she says, "She (Samantha) got this. I'm really happy, she's a great person. And she's a great influence on people around her."

While most of you are torn about whether tattoos look tacky or not, as a beauty trend they're becoming almost ubiquitous as stars like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie and Fearne Cotton all go under the needle. I'm not sure how I feel about matching tattoos for anyone though, but if any girl could pull it off, I'm sure Lindsay will do it with style.

Angelina Is Wanted, Powerful, and Talking Up a Storm

Angelina Jolie has been low profile since she was all over Cannes last month, but she's still in the media with her birth rumors, upcoming cancelled premieres and not to mention that she and Brad just came in at No. 3 and No. 10 respectively on the Forbes Annual Power List. She's also on the cover of EW to promote Wanted, where she has plenty to say about her career, family, and relationships past and present. She even touches on her controversial gun necklace that Maddox created. Here are highlights:

On her machine gun necklace: "Mad, our 6-year-old, draws lots of war scenarios. He's all into war and guns. So for Mother's Day he drew a machine gun, and Brad had it made into a necklace, which is really sweet. It's really cute. I think it's really good!"
On being pregnant: "It's all just so nice. You just really can't complain about anything as long as you know the babies are looking healthy. The only thing that's hard for me now is with twins and having four kids, there's a lot of the doctor saying 'Stop picking them up as much.' But we've worked out a system where Brad just lifts them to me every time they want to come up. I just don't bend down. I'll scream, 'Honey!' and he'll come running and lift them up. Or they climb on chairs, so it's not as big of a lift. So we're trying to follow doctor's orders, but I'm bending them a tiny bit."
On Brad's new tattoo: "I drew that. We went to Davos. It's not that we were bored at the World Economic Forum, but one night we didn't have anything to do, so I was drawing on his back. He just liked it! The picture everybody saw was kind of awkward, but it just lines up beautifully on his back, just enhances the part of the body I like."

On if she regrets her relationship with Billy Bob Thornton and wearing a vial of blood: "No! It was never a vial anyway. It was like a flower press. It was like from a slight cut on your finger and you press your fingerprint in. It was kind of a sweet gesture. I thought it was kind of romantic! I still love him dearly and think the world of him and I'm proud to have been his wife for a time. I don't believe in regrets. It's a dangerous habit to get into - it makes you pause in your life if you start thinking back and questioning yourself."
On how she and Brad have two sides: "Well, certain things are private! But there's a side of us that's so mommy-daddy and then there's a side of us that's...very man and woman. I'll leave it at that. We both like to ride motorcycles, we both like to fly planes, that's the spirited side of us. Then the other side of us is very focused on silly mommy-daddy things. So I guess that's extremes, but I just think of that as balance."

Well, it certainly sounds like Angelina is living the life right now, between her perfect pregnancy and fancy new digs, but we're still a lot more excited for the fun that starts once the down time is over and the twins are finally here.

What Do You Think About Multiple Tattoos?

A lot of people who get tattoos talk about how addictive they are. (That's why you'll often see someone donning multiple tattoos as opposed to just one.) Last time I checked, Angelina Jolie had 13, Nicole Richie had seven, and Pamela Anderson had three. Last week at the Superhero Movie premiere, Pamela showed off two of her tats. What do you think? Would you stick with just one, or are you all about multiples?
