Rihanna is always on trend and what better place to show off your style credentials than the home of couture? She was spotted strutting her stuff out and about in Paris yesterday working some fierce Christian Louboutin ankle boots (£745).

She kept all eyes on the boots wearing a grey jumper dress and black sunglasses. She also wore a quirky hat!

There are several pairs of animal print boots currently available for a variety of budgets. Marks and Spencer have a leopard print style (£55) which would look good with skinny jeans or a black shift dress. Will you be following in Rihanna's footsteps with animal print boots?

Guess Who Has a Leopard Room?

A Czech socialite, most known for being the ex-wife of a real estate mogul very prominent in the media, has a thing for animal prints. She recently told People during a tour of her opulent, seven-story Upper East Side townhouse, "In each of my homes I have a leopard room. I don't know why, but I do. It's like my lounge next to the dressing rooms." Translation: Her Manhattan sitting room is literally decked floor to ceiling in the wild print - with a cheetah painting from Africa to match.

Trend Alert: Animal Print Leggings

When leggings first returned to the scene they were assumed to be a passing trend. However, several seasons later they're still hanging around and have become a wardrobe staple. All you have to decide these days is what colour or pattern you want on them! I have already introduced you to graphic and floral styles, and now animal print is emerging as a key trend.

I would recommend wearing them with a plain top or dress as clashing prints can be difficult to pull off. I would also avoid fluoro colours unless you're very confident or are used to bright shades! I like New Look's leopard print style with a hint of neon (£10) and they're great value. Lipsy also have a cool pair (£15) which would look awesome with a long plain tee or vest.

Trend Alert: Animal Print Heels

Earlier this week I told you how catwalk fashion had embraced bad taste combining clashing colours and animal print for an unusual look. Well, animal print is a big trend in itself and is now adorning everything including heels.

There are some fierce cut out heels available with leopard print, like the Coat style by Faith (£60). There are also some gladiator sandals with a funky pattern like this pair (£50) at New Look. Team with a plain black dress for a subtle nod to the trend, and avoid wearing more than one piece of animal print at a time.

Trend Alert: Bad Taste

This Spring an unusual trend emerged on the catwalk. Instead of trying to look elegant and classy, a penchant for bad taste appeared with animal prints, clashing colours and funky neon shades gracing the catwalk. This style was present across the fashion capitals from London to Milan with everybody from Christopher Kane, to Danielle Scutt to Just Cavalli rocking the bad taste look. M.I.A already tried out bad taste at this year's Grammy Awards where she wore a Manish Arora babydoll frock with a bright yellow bra.

Lady Gaga also continues to pioneer the look with leotards and wild headwear. There is a definite '80s vibe to this look as denim jackets, printed leggings and white stilettos make a come back. Animal print has been popular for a while but leopard print (especially this Agent Provocateur bodysuit) is experiencing a moment. How do you feel about this style (or perhaps that should be lack of?)

There is so much leopard print around right now, from scarves to coats to dresses, and now on to knitwear it seems you can't escape the animal print.

When it comes to patterns, I don't have much of an animal instinct, but I enjoy a dose here or there - so long as no wild things are harmed in the making. I'd set this Cheetah Print Bench ($650) at the foot of my bed, but I wouldn't upholster an entire sofa in the fabric. How about you?

You can't move for animal print at the moment! Whilst out shopping recently I have seen it everywhere in all shapes and forms from scarves, to shoes to coats! Last night Lily Allen attended the Lipsy party in a long leopard print coat which matched her new dark bob perfectly. Kate Moss has been wearing her leopard print coat for a long time, and Myleene Klass also recently backed the trend but in a shorter style.
