Do You Think Ashlee Simpson Is Pregnant?

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Last week when when Pete and Ashlee announced their engagement, Us Weekly floated the rumor that she is pregnant. On Monday, the magazine supposedly broke the story with some sort of "confirmation." Pete quickly denied it. Then yesterday, Ashlee went on TRL and avoided the question. Meanwhile, OK! also had some sort of "insider" talking about the baby being due in October. Finally, People talked to "a source" who said that yes she's pregnant and they're getting married in May. Obviously, this back and forth is a little bit ludicrous. So what do you think, after all this nonsense - is Ashlee Simpson pregnant?

Ashlee Avoids a Direct Answer to Pregnancy Question

Ashlee Simpson stopped by TRL today with a smile on her face and an important line of questioning to address. She was there to promote Bittersweet World, but of course the issue on everyone's mind was the pregnancy rumor. While Pete's denial was more concrete, Ashlee was pretty vague about the whole thing. Maybe she's toying with us, or maybe there is more to the story. She said:

"I just think it's an inappropriate question to ask any woman...For me, that's something that I didn't ever want to respond to, because I think it's an inappropriate question...Some things, you want to keep personal, and I think that when people deny [reports that they're pregnant], it's probably because it's something they want to keep personal."

While she totally has a point, it still seems a leeeeetle bit odd that she won't respond with a simple no. I suppose only time will tell, but until then - has this settled it? Do you think she's not pregnant for sure?

UPDATE - People is now reporting that Ashlee is pregnant and planning to get married next month at a friend's house in La Jolla.

Update: According to MTV news, Pete Wentz is refuting reports that Ashlee is pregnant.

Looks like Papa Joe Simpson will be a grandpappy since Ashlee Simpson, 23, is adding a baby to her autobiography.

The singer and her fall out boy-turned-fiancé, musician Pete Wentz, announced their engagement last week to speculation that young star was pregnant. Us Weekly claims to have confirmed the couple's exciting news with a source.

There is so something in the LA water. Us Weekly claims to have confirmed that Ashlee Simpson is pregnant with her first child. She and Pete announced their engagement last week on his website, at which time the magazine started the baby talk, but their reps have yet to comment on the pregnancy rumor. So take this all with the appropriately large grain of salt until his or her people have something to say - but . . . if so, congratulations to the happy couple? Methinks I see a shotgun wedding in the near future.

Update: Pete has denied that Ashlee is pregnant saying, "There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. ... I mean really, this is crazy. ... I mean we're engaged, that's true, and happy about it."

Ashlee Simpson's Canadian Weekend

Ashlee Simpson left from LAX on Friday and reappeared in Toronto this weekend. The singer was there as the new spokeswoman for a clothing line called Request, where she went to a Zellers store for their re-launch on Saturday. Ash has dabbled in fashion design before, but at the event she talked more about her future plans, and how she feels about her baby's upcoming arrival. Here are some highlights:

On the baby's arrival: "It's going to be very exciting. I think your mother instincts really kick in the day you find out that you're pregnant and for me, it's been a blast preparing for it, getting the nursery ready and all that. So, we're both really looking forward to it."
On her new hobby, knitting: "I really like to do it (knitting) but I always kind of have a hole in it. I don't have anything made yet for my baby but maybe I will."

Ashlee Simpson turned 24 on Friday, and Pete Wentz celebrated by taking her to see Wicked in LA on Saturday. The couple matched in Fall essential beanies, to go with Ashlee's unmistakable long red hair. While Ashlee's been in LA, Pete's been busy promoting his upcoming Fall Out Boy album in NYC and keeping us updated with his blog and Twitter. Pete also recently donated money to fight Proposition 8, proving that he's committed to making the world the type of place they want to raise their son.

Ashlee and Pete Might Not Have Double the Baby Duty

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz had dinner at Koi in LA on Friday, and then Ash spent some time shopping for makeup on Sunday before glamming up for the VMAs later that night. While Pete's friend Tyga said the couple was expecting twins earlier in the weekend, when we talked to him on the VMA red carpet he laughed it off saying, "Oh I did? I said that? I thought I said they were adopting an African kid. That's what I heard." Ash and Pete's rep also denied the rumor. Whether or not Tyga was joking about the twins it's still fun to see Ashlee take her large bump all around town and we're excited to meet the new Simpson-Wentz addition, however many there may be.

Ashlee Simpson looked classic in her denim and white, rocking a pair of those maternity jeans she loves so much, out at La Scala in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon. She's been all about the casual wear during her pregnancy, but this weekend she and her growing baby bump will take the stage at the VMAs. Whether or not she'll walk the red carpet with Pete, he's always happy to gush about his expecting wife, which (sorry to say it) comes off a lot better than the other Simpson girl story this week about Jessica's nickname for Tony.

Nicole Richie and Ashlee Simpson saw each other while indulging in a little shoe shopping at Barneys yesterday afternoon before Nicole headed off on her own to house hunt while Joel is on tour. The new mom and mom-to-be have more in common than ever these days and went on a double date with their rocker boys back in April when Ashlee's baby bump was still a question mark. Now she's so big and can get even more mommy advice from her starlet friend. As for the house hunt, Nicole and Joel are looking for a new place, but no matter where in LA it is, they won't be too far from their friends' new addition and possible future playmate for adorable Harlow.
