Dear Savvy,
I applied for a receptionist job at a plastic surgeon's office (I have experience in this field). Yesterday, I was called back and interviewed on the phone for about 15 or 20 minutes with the office manager. She asked if I'd come in to be interviewed by the doctor.

Dear Savvy,
I have a question about a job I applied for earlier this month (Oct. 4). I got a reply the following morning because my resume didn't download, and I replied with an apology and another attachment a few hours later.

Su Casa member Pretty Little Things got this overstuffed burgundy chenille burgundy chair at a garage sale for only $50. She wants to integrate it into her awesome new apartment, but her "theoretical color scheme involves grays, golds, whites, neutrals, dark wood, no burgundy!" And aside from the color, she also finds the chair bulky.

Colin Nissan and Sean Farrell of Don't Be That Guy fame have graciously agreed to answer some burning questions we women folk have about men. You guys were not loving their answer to a woman's question "Why isn't he calling me?" but this week they head into less controversial territory.

Hi Casa,
I am adding, for the first time ever, fine photography to my apartment. However I am at a loss when it comes to framing styles and arrangement.
One set of four photographs is horizontally-oriented and black-and-white.

Ahh, the challenge of racking up enough miles to actually use them for a free ticket. Business travelers and those who frequently fly via the same carrier can stock up for award travel, but did you know that many major airlines have expiration dates following a period of "non-activity" (usually between 18 and 24 months)?
If you want to still make use of those miles, you can purchase the remainder to get a free upgrade or trip in batches of 1,000 miles.

Dear Savvy,
I've just paid off one of my credit cards that was in the Debt Management Program through a credit counseling service, which is something I'm proud of! It's nice to have accomplished that! The only issue is, I got a letter from that company offering to reopen the credit card line since I paid everything off.

A few months ago, I stumbled upon the awesome book Don't Be That Guy, an illustrated book that delineated the myriad types of guys no guy should be.
There are the guys who verbally encourage themselves while working out at the gym, or guys who wear sunglasses at nonprofessional poker tournaments, or guys with Amish beards who aren't Amish (my personal fave). The list goes on.

Dear Fit,
I tried out a new strength training class at my gym, and it was awesome. It uses dumbbells, resistance bands, gym balls, and mat exercises to tone your whole body. There were definitely a lot of new moves I'd never done before, and during one of the exercises, where you're balancing on your bum in a V-position, and lowering your torso and legs toward the floor, I was shaking uncontrollably.

November brings the time change, beginning of the end-of-year stress at work, countdown to holiday madness, and Black Friday. It's also a great month to reflect on the year, turn over a new leaf at work, and start making your resolutions and 2010 plans (if you haven't already!).
There are always a million things on the to-do list, but what's your primary career or financial goal for this month?
