Recently, after seeing a picture of doe-eyed, pixie-sporting Ginnifer Goodwin, I've had gamines on the brain. Characteristics often associated with gamine women include pixie hairstyles, short, straight-across bangs, bobbed hairstyles, wide eyes, petite features, boyish qualities, and a bit of what you might call a certain je ne sais quoi. Check out some famous gamine stars — from both past and present — right now.

I thought I had a good handle on the woman, the legend, Coco Chanel: Gabrielle, a magical seamstress, androgynous, smoker. Little did I know when I sat down to see Coco Before Chanel that I was going to embark on an emotional roller coaster — beautiful, deep, tear-inducing.
Naturally, a big part of the film is the wardrobe, but don't go expecting extravagance.

There are lots of ways to wear bangs, from the swoop, to the baby varieties, to the blunt straight-across-the-forehead assortments. So, let's take a trip back to days past, where all sorts of fringe styles — and lots of hairspray — ruled the looks of the moment.

I can only dream of having thick, wavy hair like Audrey Tautou, but in the meantime, I'll just admire it from afar. At last night's LA premiere of Coco Avant Chanel, Audrey accessorized that enviable cute and flirty wavy pixie with a silky black bow with multiple folds. Notice how the placement and dark color of this hair accent almost mimics the texture and dark tones of the actress's short locks.

When it comes to movies, I'm a sucker for beautiful sets and stunning costumes. That's partially why I'm so excited about seeing the biopic about Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel's early years, Coco Avant Chanel. Starring Audrey Tautou as well as many fabulous costumes, which were created by Catherine Leterrier, this film opens in the US in mid-September.

The most exciting fashion film of the year has to be Coco Avant Chanel starring the gorgeous Audrey Tautou. The French film has gathered a lot of hype throughout it's production owing to an impressive wardrobe and a little guidance from Karl Lagerfeld. We've already seen stills from the film and it is finally released across the UK on 31st July.

I have long admired the bouncy, theatrical hairstyle Audrey Tautou wore in one of my favorite flicks, Amélie. She is just painfully cute, non? But, alas, I have finer, straighter locks than Audrey's naturally thick wavy strands, so it would take lots of extra products and effort to achieve this look, which I consider to be a perfect mix of the chic, quirky, and gamine.

I can't get enough of Audrey Tautou's wavy pixie. It has the perfect vintage vibe with a fresh, modern appeal. To duplicate this forever-in-style look, apply a texturizing gel or a curl activating spray to damp hair and let air dry.

If you're a die-hard Chanel fan (like me) you'll be excited to learn that the new advertising film (otherwise known as a souped up commercial) for the N°5 fragrance was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and it stars the lovely Audrey Tautou. The setting is a train en route to Istabul. Picture a handsome man traveling alone, who becomes startled and enamoured by the beauty (and of course essence) of a strange woman.
