Jul 15 2008 - 12:00pm In an attempt to get in with the in crowd, JCPenney has teamed up with Baby Phat founder Kimora Lee Simmons, in launching her exclusive juniors line, Fabulosity. The brand will encompass the same trendy elements as its sister label but at lower price points, between $29 to $108, in comparison to Baby Phat's $30 to $200 range.
"The Fabulosity girl is fun, fashionable and chic, but she doesn't want to spend her last penny on something to wear.

i hate it.and i think the baby phat line is just so gaudy and tacky to me. kimora has horrible taste. just my opinion
1I agree.
2I agree. She has no creativity whatsoever.
3I thought this had been there already?
4I cannot stand Kimora or anything she pretends to 'design'
5ugh. clothes are cheap & trashy looking, but considering where they came from i am not surprised.
6They are very cheap looking. I like Kimora but she no stylist. I never liked her Baby Phat line either, this is even worse.
I never understood this - A 'designer' who needs a stylist. It just doesnt make sense to me....just like this line.
7coming from a woman who behind seems to only fit in baby fat jeans... i think its an good idea. how ever baby fat jeans are un fashionable ( you know with the tacky cat and all) of all the jeans out there for girls with figures like mine it's an cheap altertive
850 dollars for skinny jeans? Why not send these girls to Forever 21 at least they can find denim that isn't over saturated with cheap crystals.
Tacky!
9Penny's and BabyPhat? Odd combo! I don't understand how Kimro promotes her line because she certainly doesn't dress in those gaudy clothes.
10I think the idea is good but it looks like BP with obviously less decent materials. The JCP site makes the clothes look wrinkly and gross.
11pass
12WHO are her targets again? My 14 y/o knows her stuff is garish and not to be taken seriously.
13aren't you gals kinda late on this??? Kimora and JCPenny has been partners for a while....to those who don't like kimora and her fashion just remember she is a very intelligent, hard working, don't take any ish from nobody so i think she is doing a very well job! go girl
14I don't think that her clothes are tacky or garish at all.
15I don't have a strong opinion on this except when she says "The days of spending tons of money on clothes - I mean I still do it but young girls can't"
That is just tacky. Instead of offering a simple statement emphasizing the value for money and that style doesn't have to be expensive (or whatever...the clothes are not my taste but I won't judge them) she makes herself sound somewhat insensitive.
Its as if to say "Yeah.... life is hard for people now, but not me! I'm so rich that I don't have to change! But hey! Don't worry, I make cheap clothes for the rest of you...."
Just not the best marketing angle, really, is it.
I also am
not keen on the word "Fabulosity". It sounds a bit trashy to me, in the same way some people say "Classy"....nobody that is actually possessed of higher degrees of true class, SAYS "classy".
16her stuffs always look cheap, period.
17We understand she is a powerful woman who can get her line out there and get the job done... we're just saying her taste is sh*t.
18Eh, this stuff will all end up at the discount stores for $9.99 like the mainline Baby Phat stuff.
19NO THANKS.
20Blah.
21I don't like Baby Phat but people need to realize that everything is not meant to be for everyone. Just like Old Navy jeans aren't designed for women with hips, Baby Phat may not be designed for you.
