2010 Spring New York Trend Alert: Return of the One Piece

Perfect timing. After this Summer, I decided I need a new one piece. Though I am a skimpy bikini girl at heart, there are times when a one piece is in order. Be it a swanky pool party or chillin' poolside with the fam, the return of the one piece is upon us. Brian Reyes sent out delicate seersuckers, Derek Lam posh loungers, even sexy fashion beast Herve Leger turned down the volume with a printed baby-blue laser-cut suit. If anyone can prove one pieces can be equally as sexy as two, it's Michael Kors and his clear plastic cut-out noir creation. If only I could have that model's chiseled cheekbones, too . . .

New York Fashion Week is full of design inspiration from the palettes and patterns to the details and embellishments, and even the onlookers themselves. Yesterday's Badgley Mischka Spring 2010 fashion show truly won me over, though. From coral beading to ethereal white ruffles, many elements of the collection could easily translate to interior design. Badgley Mischka is celebrating 20 years of decadent design with some of their favorite Hollywood clients. After all, if it weren't for them, the brand wouldn't be as popular as it is today. Shot by Annie Leibovitz, the designing duo enlisted Eva Longoria, Carrie Underwood, Brooke Shields, Lauren Hutton, and Anjelica Huston to pose alongside them in an array of their decadent couture gowns - luckies! “Obviously it shows we believe in glamour more than ever. It’s what we do and what we love to do,” said Badgley.

It may look dingy at first glance, but the dark backdrop in Paramount Studios only brings more attention to the designers' intricate creations. My favorite has to Carrie Underwood in the lovely lavender ruffled frock. "I love Badgley Mischka for not only making the most beautiful gowns, but also for bringing together such strong, amazing women to celebrate 20 years of glamour and fashion," said Underwood. You can't go wrong with beautiful dresses and dazzling stars. I love this, do you?

Carrie proved to be the hostess with the mostest at last night's CMA awards. She had so many wardrobe changes, I couldn't squeeze them all in here. But, these are my favorites. Carrie has range; she loves color as much as neutrals, texture equally well as minimalism. She is a glamour girl though, always fond of ruffles, sparkle, and embellishments. Blushing Fall Brides

I don't plan on tying the knot anytime soon, but it's always fun to look. Bridal Fashion Week is underway and it's looking to be a very beautiful Fall. So far, I've seen an amazing array of gowns ranging from Reem Acra's Grecian-inspired gowns to Monique Lhuillier's glamorous frocks.
