Award season is fun, but celebs took a minibreak to relax at BAFTA/LA's 16th annual award season tea party. The old-fashioned, British-style event feted the following lovely ladies: Diane Kruger in soft pink, Anna Kendrick wearing a tan strapless number, Julianne Moore in black and white florals, Emily Blunt working a blue sheath dress, and Claire Danes looking confident in an ivory skirt suit. They all look sharp, no doubt, but who's most Fab?

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced the 2008 nominations, which largely mirror the Globe noms — though there's (unsurprisingly) even more love for Atonement on the other side of the pond. The romantic Joe Wright-directed drama leads the nominations with a whopping 14, while No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood each nabbed nine. La Vie en Rose is another favorite, as is The Bourne Ultimatum, which is one of the few major departures from other recent award nominations.

Though they were understandably overshadowed by the Grammys, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts also held its annual awards ceremony on Sunday, in London. The reason we're paying attention, of course, is to get even more Oscar buzz. In case you weren't sure already, both Helen Mirren's and Forest Whitaker's chances are looking pretty sweet right now.

We're in the midst of award season and although the majority of events have been taking place stateside, it's only a matter of weeks until the 2010 BAFTAs. The award show is the closest thing we have to the Oscars and I'm always excited to see the red carpet action. Who knows what 2010 will have in store, but I'm hoping to see Carey Mulligan, Ann Marie Duff and maybe even Emily Blunt.

BAFTA held their LA tea party this weekend, and a selection of stars attended before they headed to the Golden Globes. Claire Danes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Saoirse Ronan, Gabourey Sidibe and Helen Mirren were among the guests that attended, alongside some of the celebs that have had a very busy weekend like Ed Westwick, Jessica Szohr, Paul McCartney, Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson, Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt.
Gabourey got into the British spirit, saying of the tea: "I'm going to drink every cup with my pinky up!"
