The press room was packed last night as the winners and presenters filed through after presenting and picking up trophies at the BAFTA TV Awards. It was an exciting night for Skins stars Kaya Scodelario and Hannah Murray, who beamed as they held up the only award that BAFTA TV Awards audience had voted for, while Kenneth Branagh held up the Drama series award he picked up for Wallander. Other winners included Harry Hill, David Mitchell, The Bill, Mad Men and The X Factor — what an exciting, star-studded night!

What a night! I've just got back from the BAFTA Awards 2009, so — without further ado — here are all the winners! Slumdog Millionaire had a very successful evening, winning seven awards including Best Film and Director for Danny Boyle, Kate Winslet took home the Leading Actress award for her role in The Reader, while Mickey Rourke made a fantastic amusing speech when he picked up the award for Leading Actor.

Gavin & Stacey and Harry Hill were the big winners with two gongs each at the BAFTA Television Awards at the London Palladium last night. After all the excitement of seeing the stars on the red carpet we settled in for Graham Norton's excellent hosting of the ceremony, which saw thirteen first time winners including Best Actor Andrew Garfield, Continuing Drama winner Holby City and International category winner Heroes. Favourite moments for me were Rob Brydon's hilarious presenting of the Comedy Programme Award, James Corden's surprise at winning the Comedy Performance BAFTA (and Ruth Jones' tears), Eileen Atkins' amusing acceptance speech for Best Actress, and good old Brucie receiving the Academy Fellowship.

Fantastic young talents Noel Clarke — winner of the Rising Star BAFTA this year — and Julia Roberts' niece Emma Roberts were among the celebs on hand to celebrate the best digital short films last night at the BFI in London. I spotted Emma at the Mulberry London Fashion Week party earlier this week — and she was looking just as fashionable with her funky accessories at the film event last night. Luke Snellin's short, called Mixtape, took home the £30,000 prize, impressing the judging panel that included Kevin Spacey and Gemma Arterton.

There were smiles all round on Sunday night, as the British Academy of Film and Television award winners were announced in London. Jonathan Ross presented the award ceremony, in place of the familiar Stephen Fry, and the gongs were split fairly evenly over the best films of last year. Out of its massive haul of fourteen nominations, Atonement picked up only two awards – although one of those was the top award of Best Film, and La Vie En Rose picked up four awards.

Preparations are being made at London's Royal Festival Hall for the TV BAFTA Awards, which take place on Sunday 26th April. Rob Brydon, Ben Whishaw and June Brown are amongst the nominees, and the placards on the seats gives us an idea of who will be there. Lots of stars attended last year's ceremony, so we're getting excited!
