Lily's Living It Up in NYC and On Track For the Double

Lily Allen continued her publicity trip around North America, moving on from TV appearances in Canada to the Bowery Ballroom in New York City for the first of her MySpace Secret Show series. The singer gave a shout out to her "favourite singer" Britney Spears before launching in to "Womanizer" in the encore, wearing black gloves with her red dress. She's been chatting about the cost of her wardrobe, admitting she spent £100,000 on clothes last year. Wowzers. With her single "The Fear" on track to keep the number one spot, and her album It's Not Me, It's You expected to debut in first position, Lily's looking at a chart double this Sunday.

Buzz-Worthy Video: Leighton Meester Performs With Weezer

What was Gossip Girl Leighton Meester for Halloween? A rock star! The actress, who also moonlights as a singer, was invited to jump onstage Saturday night with Weezer at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC and duet with Rivers on the band's new single "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To."

The lucky girl sang her heart out in an as-yet-unidentified costume - and oddly enough, Nat Wolff from the Naked Brothers band also joined in on guitar.

Jay-Z Pays Respects to Kanye's Mom

Last night's Jay-Z concert at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC ended on a more somber note when he asked the audience to observe a moment of silence in honor of Donda West, Kanye's mother who passed away suddenly over the weekend. Right before performing his final song, "Roc Boys" Jay-Z said to the crowd, "Let's get serious for a minute...This show is dedicated to Kanye West who had a death in the family....We got you, Kanye. Stay strong." Despite their usually hardened exterior, it's nice to hear that deep down these guys really are sweethearts and there for each other. In case you're curious, TMZ is staying on top of the story with frequent updates. Hopefully Kanye and his family are surrounded by all sorts of love during this difficult time.

SYTYCD's Brandon and Ariana Talk About Being Cut First

This week's ousted dancers from So You Think You Can Dance were the first to go since the top 20 were selected. Brandon Dumlao and Ariana Dubose got on the phone with a few reporters this morning, including me, to chat about how they feel after last night's elimination.

Brandon

On the timeline of replacing Billy Bell: I got the call on Friday at 11 in the morning and they told me that I was able to replace another dancer, and it was Billy, in this case. I got on a plane two hours later, it was an hour flight, I landed, got picked up, I went to the studio, found out Pauline was my partner in front of everyone, and then we went straight to rehearsal for Smooth Waltz with Jason Gilkisen. It was such a whirlwind; it was really crazy, but it was such an amazing experience.
On Russell being in the bottom with him: I was so surprised because Russell is of course a fan favorite, and I’m sure the judges love him too. When he was announced, I kind of knew in a way that I might have been going home, because he is amazing and this cast is amazing. Billy - his were such big shoes to fill that I felt it was unfair to take another guy’s spot. I was happy the way it turned out, because I didn’t think it was unfair for me to come in and take another guy’s spot.

On Nigel's offer of coming back for season seven: I did not expect him to say that. I really thought that that was my only chance to be in the top 20, and I wanted to make the most of it, so for him to propose that to me and let me come back for season 7, if that’s possible, that’s really crazy. Right after I got cut, I went and got into some ballroom classes and took some more hip hop. I’m ready and I’m going to keep taking classes if I can come back next season.
On whether he thinks he may have done better if he'd originally been in the top 20: I think I might have had a better chance just because the judges would have known I’d set the same standard as everyone else, because when I did the waltz they kept saying "you didn’t have enough time," "you didn’t have enough time," because they knew I’d replaced Billy. So I feel like I would have done a better job, and they would have seen I’d done a better job, and would have taken that into consideration with the results. But I’m really happy the way I did and I'm really happy the way everything turned out, because this cast is so amazing; I can’t pick who’s going to win - everyone is going to do so well.

Ariana

On her next plans and whether she'll pursue a career in L.A.: Actually, I’m more focused on New York. I want to dance on Broadway. I also sing and act, and I was singing and acting and dancing before I even auditioned for the show, so the show was just really another path for me. So I’m going to head to New York for a little bit and audition for shows and commercials and movies and just see what happens.
On rumors she could replace Noelle, who was injured this week: I have not heard from Noelle; I hope that she’s doing well. Noelle and I come from the same studio, so honestly I would probably feel a little funny about taking her place. I mean, who doesn’t want a second chance, but honestly I wouldn’t want to be eliminated again.
On her predictions for the season six winner: Honestly, it’s a crap shoot - forgive my language there. Everyone’s fantastic and I don’t think you can count anybody out; it’s going be a week-by-week thing.

SYTYCD: Which Dancers Do You Like So Far?

It's Vegas week on So You Think You Can Dance, which means that the contestants who've gotten a ticket to Nevada get evaluated again before they get to go to LA.

All of the judges are on hand to watch the dancers try out different dance styles out of their comfort zones to see if they can be put through in the competition, and the high stakes mean the dancing is rigorous. It's stressful just watching talented people struggle with different dance genres, and many don't make it. But for those who do, I'm already pegging my faves.

I'm into krumper Russell Ferguson, whose partner dance to "Disturbia" rocked Adam Shankman's world, and liked Teddy Tedholm, the argyle pants-wearing naif who shockingly owned his hip hop routine (but was cut in ballroom). By the by - I was disappointed when the judges cut Ryan Kasprzak because of his weak performances. I really thought he'd be a part of season six. But anyway, as for the girls, I'm declaring myself a huge fan of Elinore Scott right now.

I'm getting pretty impatient for the competition portion of So You Think You Can Dance, because the auditions are showing off such unique talent. How will a krumper or b-boy do at ballroom? Lindsay, Taylor and Jessica Spread Their Fashion Love

Jessica Alba, Taylor Momsen and Lindsay Lohan made up the starlet contingent out at Fashion Week events in NYC last night. Jessica shined in her sexy black dress at the Narciso Rodriguez show in Bryant Park while Lindsay and Taylor were matching blondes in the front row at G-Star's Hammerstein Ballroom presentation. Taylor's edgy look works well when she's rocking out on stage with her band, but on Gossip Girl Jenny Humphrey's already over her first rebellious phase. Lindsay, meanwhile, can't seem to stay out of trouble - while she's been quiet on Twitter since her last breakdown, she may already be in trouble with Ungaro for skipping out on obligations.

Teri Hatcher to Try a Tri

Along with learning to play guitar and ballroom dance, Teri Hatcher explained that running in a triathlon was on her "bucket list." I am not sure how the guitar or the dancing are coming along, but her "bucket list" will soon be one item shorter, because Teri was tapped by Disney, parent company for her show Desperate Housewives, to lead a team at the upcoming Nautica Malibu Triathlon. The race is scheduled for September 13, and Terri has upped her regular training. She recently told People, the running is her least favorite segment of the race. About the four mile run that completes the race Hatcher said, "It's the least fun for me. By that point, I'm really tired, so the whole time I'm thinking, 'I'm not going to make it.'" Her participation in the triathlon will be doing more than whipping her into even better shape, Hatcher will be raising money for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. What about you?
