Hair grows on the average woman's head, armpits, brow, arms, legs, and pubic area. But, if aliens came to America, they'd probably have no idea — except for the head, of course.
Many women today feel the pressure (or preference) to be hairless, and society's dedication to this was evident on Sunday night when some seemed shocked by Mo'Nique's decision to expose her hairy legs.

"Hair thingamabob," "clippie," and "oh, you know, that thing" are definitely a part of the common parlance of hair accessories, especially when it comes to items that are a subgenre of a larger product type, like hair clips or headbands. The thing is, though, that many of the items you see around do have their own perfectly nice names, and they're the sort of words that are helpful when you're talking to your stylist or looking for something online. Do you know your favorite hair implement's real name?

Did you know that no government agency regulates use of the term "organic" when it comes to makeup and skin care? Yup, it's true. Although the USDA enforces a strict standard when it comes to food labeled as organic, the same isn't true for makeup and skin care, which are notoriously poorly regulated.

The Senate's proposed healthcare bill includes a novel approach to enhancing funding for reform: a five percent tax increase on cosmetic surgery. Procedures like tummy tucks, face lifts, hair plugs, collagen injections, Botox, or any other non-required procedure would get hit with the increase. The tax could raise as much as $6 billion.

Every once in a while, I run across a gadget I'm not sure is kind of useful or just plain odd. Like cosmetic company Stila's geeky makeup case, which was featured on BellaSugar. Part makeup case, part portable speakers, the Makeup Player ($70) even comes with cosmetics inside.
