Coveted Crib: Twilight's Cullen Family House

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to live like a vampire, let me tell you: it can be pretty sweet. That is, if you're a member of Twilight's Cullen Family. The 100-plus-year-old vampires don't live in a decaying lair, but a stunning contemporary house that would incite jealousy in any mere mortal. I actually showed you this house back in February, when I featured the 4,300-square-foot home's architect. The home was designed by Portland, OR-based Skylab Architecture - a name that very well suits the towering structure. Architect Jeff Kovel originally built the home as a spec house, but to no surprise, it sold after only two days on the market to Director of Footwear Design at Nike, John Hoke. If you caught the romantic fantasy, you'll remember that the interior is just as phenomenal as the exterior. I personally swooned more over Edward Cullen's "bedroom" than over brooding Robert Pattinson himself. But just to jog your memory, check out photos when you read more.

10 Masculine Bedrooms

A guy friend of mine recently mentioned that he was on the hunt for bedroom furniture, and that he'd had his eye on some bedroom sets. Naturally, I had a strong reaction to this. I find bedroom sets, or furniture sets in general, to be sacrilegious. Buying one would be to openly admit that you have no design sense and you're happy living in a furniture showroom or a hotel with no personal style. A modern man doesn't wear a three-piece suit with a matching button-down every day, does he? So why condone such plain tastes in your décor? Before and After: A Bedroom Redo From '80s to Ladylike

When you're a recent grad living at the 'rent's, it's hard to transition the décor of your high school days (likely handmedowns, anyways) to that of the sophisticated young woman you've become. Sometimes you just need the help of an expert to make the change.

Daniela was in luck when her older sister Camila, of High-Heeled Foot in the Door, a seasoned DIYer, came to the rescue. Her bedroom, as you can see, was plagued with '80s furniture - check out that gold-trimmed circular headboard - and a hodge-podge of colorless textiles. So while Daniela was away, Camila snuck in and redecorated her sister's bedroom for only $450, updating it with a sophisticated and cohesive color scheme, some of-the-moment accessories, and best of all, contemporary furniture that didn't evoke The Wedding Singer. Su Casa: NikkiChristensen's Newly Decorated Bedroom

Su Casa member NikkiChristensen recently decorated her apartment and shared photos with the group. I absolutely adore her bedroom. She's really made the most of an oddly shaped room, resisting the urge to put her bed up against a wall, and instead letting it float. Her furnishings are really minimal, which is calm, but the composition gives it polish. I love how her hanging lantern draws your eye upward to that beautiful, natural light. Ask Casa: A Backstage Sitting Room

Hey Casa,
I've been loving all of your bedroom ideas lately! Since I am currently thinking of redoing my bedroom and sitting room, I was hoping you'd be able to help me with some imagery or ideas. I want darker walls, vintage movie posters, and a dresser like the ones they use "backstage" in movies with rows of light bulbs. I'd like to incorporate a bit of a Broadway theme into my room. I want the sitting room to be colorful and crazy, but still comfortable and cool. Do you have any thoughts for me?

You've imagined a very inspired space. How fun!

I assume when you say "dresser" you mean a vanity, where you sit down to get all dolled up. I've gone ahead and rounded up a bunch of furniture to help you achieve this look you've dreamed up. First, you'll need that vanity, and I've selected a few for you. I think a dark wood one would be ideal, but you can always paint a more affordable white one. If the vanity you choose doesn't come with a mirror, I've picked one for you. If you want the real thing, check out this 1970s Mirror From a Dressing Room in the Moulin Rouge ($750).

Beside the mirror, you'll want to install bathroom light bars on the wall. Depending on the size you want, you can find them at Bathroom Lighting Source for $37.50 to $93.50.

For seating, go with a tufted velvet stool for your vanity and a relaxing fainting sofa. Set a mirrored coffee table beside it. Velvet curtains will coordinate and add glamour. To achieve that "crazy" quality you're aiming for, choose a theatrical rug, which will become the focal point of the room.

I'm partial to original movie posters, and MoviePoster.com is a great source for them. Pick a few of your favorites and have them framed. Try La Dolce Vita ($16), Barbarella ($16), My Fair Lady ($15), or Lolita ($16) to add some color and spice.

That's a great question! I love Serena's room. I don't blame you for wanting to get the look. I've covered snippets of Serena's bedroom before (here, here, and here) in my Get the Looks, but never in its entirety. So, thanks for giving me the opportunity!
Here are a few more items that will help you recreate Serena's posh bedroom!
The Pier 1 Vercelli Chest ($499) is a red, Asian-inspired, hand-painted dresser much like Serena's. Check out this widget for wallpaper, bedding, and lighting like Serena's.

Love It or Hate It? Pretty (Much All) in Pink

A bedroom in designer Hervé Van der Straeten's Paris apartment, photographed by Simon Watson, is dressed almost entirely in the same hue of pink. It's probably the most masculine shade of pink I've seen - if that's possible. The bedroom looks like a place one could sleep for days, a calming retreat. But never in a million years would I consider using a single color in this way; I'm not sure how I feel about it. What about you?
