Back to Basics: The Best Powder Bronzers

Since we are always writing about the next best thing that is premiering on the beauty market, we can't overlook that sometimes, some of the best colors and products are the oldies but goodies. In this installment of Back to Basics: The Best Powder Bronzers, we are going to take a trip down memory lane to share a few of my old time favorites. I can't wait to hear what you think! Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna , $28, is my all time fave bronzer. It's got just the right amount of shimmer in it and there is no trace of orange in the undertones. I can wear it during any season and it blends well with any shade of blush I pair it with. It gives me the best all over glow and I can even dust it along my collar bones for contouring.

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder, $32, in medium has yet to let me down. Since it is a matte blush, it's great for shading or for dusting all over your face as a deep toned powder. It will give your skin a sun kissed, healthy radiance. You can also use it all year round and it lasts forever! It is available in five shades.

Origins Sunny Disposition® Powder Bronzer in Deep, $19.50, is perfect for really enhancing your best features. It now also comes in a new lighter color (warm) but I've got to say, this bronzer in the deep color has been a staple of mine for years. You can use it all over your face or just as a highlight on your forehead, nose, cheeks, chin and eyebrow bone. It contains Vitamin C and is oil, talc and aluminum free.

Baked Pyramid™ Matte Bronzer in Baked Tan, $11.95, is a sheer and lighter colored bronzer than the rest. I like that it's matte and it just gives you a hint of color for those really pale days where you need some life on your face. Also if you are sun burnt - GASP - this will help to even out your skin tone.

Best of 2007: Bronzer

Bronzer is a great way to add warmth to pale skin as well as a way to add contour and definition to your cheekbones. This year especially we've seen the launch of many different types of bronzers such as mineral bronzer, cream bronzer, bronzing gel, bronzing oil, oversized face and body bronzer, and traditional powder bronzer.

2009 American Music Awards: Leona Lewis

The lovely Leona Lewis has, thankfully, recovered from being attacked earlier this year, and she was at her golden girl best on the red carpet tonight. Instead of the gold-toned or smoky eye makeup that usually prevails at awards shows, Leona opted for a bright green shadow that made her eyes stand out beautifully, and she complemented the green with a whisper pink lip and a hint of bronzer on her cheeks. I think the look was lovely, but it wasn't very seasonal. What do you think? Is this makeup pretty no matter what, or is it just too summery for a November television appearance?

Bella Bargain: 75 Percent Off at Too Faced's Vintage Super Sale

If you like shopping Too Faced's Vintage selections, this is the sale for you. From now until Oct. 25, the brand's last-season (but still good) products are on sale for deep, deep discounts. My favorite steal is the Decade of Glamour set ($15), which has six eye shadows, a ton of lip glosses, blush, bronzer, mascara - all the brand's best-selling products - for $20 less than its standalone bronzer set. If you want a taste of Too Faced for Wet 'n' Wild prices, I'd say this is a good time to buy. There are also a ton of lip glosses on sale, and a waterproof turquoise metallic eyeliner ($6) that I'm buying now because I know it'll be hot come Spring 2010.
