Beyonce's Trainer Reveals 5-Minute Preparty "Body Blast"

When I'm totally wrapped up in Thanksgiving cooking, prepping, organizing, shopping (need I go on?), there's hardly a fighting chance that I'll make it to the gym for a full-on workout. Usually, I'll try to squeeze in a set of push-ups while prepping dinner preparation, or an early morning yoga session, if I can. So, I was excited to see Marco Borges, the trainer credited with whipping Beyonce, husband Jay-Z, and Gwen Stefani into tip-top shape, sharing an easy and no-equipment-needed workout with US Weekly. Here are the five moves he suggests to give yourself an all-over body-blasting workout (even if you only have five minutes to spare before your guests arrive):

Jumping Plies: I call these jumping squats, but it doesn't matter what you call them as long as you do them. Here's how: stand with your feet just a bit wider than shoulder-width apart, abs pulled in tight, and bend your knees, lowering your body till your thighs are parallel to the floor and jump straight into the air. Return to starting position and repeat for one minute.

Reverse Lunges: Standing with feet shoulder-width apart, step back into a lunge and repeat on the opposite side, alternating for one minute. Be sure that abs remain tight throughout, working your core and maintaining your balance and posture.

Push-Ups: According to Marco, "The push-up is quite possibly one of the simplest and best body weight movements targeting the muscles of the chest, arms, shoulders and core." Do as many classic push-ups, or moderated position push-ups from your knees, as you can for a full one minute, making sure to maintain proper form and bring your chest as close to the floor as you can before pushing back to starting plank position.

Doing Drugstore: L'Oréal True Match Liquid Makeup

My Summery (fake) tan look can't last me past next month, so last week I started hunting for a paler shade that would give me good coverage with a reasonable SPF. I picked up this L'Oréal True Match Liquid Makeup ($11) at Walgreens, and I've been pleased so far. The texture is nice, the shade matching really is as good as Beyonce says, and it doesn't darken or yellow as it dries like most drugstore foundations. It also didn't break me out, which is rare.

It definitely stays on all day, and while I wish it had a higher SPF, the protection factor of 17 that it does have isn't half bad. I love my Prescriptives Custom Blend Foundation, but this one is pretty good for 11 bucks. The only place I give it a thumbs down is around my eyes. Within minutes of putting it on, I had crow's feet I'd never seen before, weird white lines under my eyes, and stripes on my lids. The stuff stays, but it settles really deep, so substitute some concealer on your more delicate, line-prone spots.

Beyonce Confides in Cosmo About Keeping Fit and Private

Beyonce Knowles has been chatting with Cosmopolitan UK about keeping fit and keeping her privacy. Here are the highlights:

On keeping fit: "I do circuit training and run about two-and-a-half miles every day. When I was in my best shape I got up at 6am, so I’m trying to do that again - but I’m not there yet ... I do a lot of things with my trainer, but I don’t enjoy working out ... he doesn’t have to fight me [though] as I understand that if I don’t do it, I’m the one who’s going to be on stage, out of shape."
On what she'd change: "I wish my arms and thighs were tighter, and I wish my feet were different. I used to love them until I started dancing around in stilettos ... [and] my ears are pointy."
On being told to eat less: "My stylists mention it when the clothes aren’t fitting anymore! And my mum tells me, yeah ... I go through phases. Right now I’m eating veg and drinking water ... it’s boring. Usually when I get 5-8lb heavier than my ideal weight, I’ll start eating healthily and make an effort to exercise more. At the moment if I snack it’ll be fruit. Or I have these yoghurt-covered almonds. But this is when I’m being good. When I’m being bad, I’m bad. All the way. Burgers, pizzas, French fries, the lot…"

On keeping her relationships private: "There are certain things that are kind of obvious, and if you start talking, the questions will never stop. I think there’s more to life than sharing it with everyone ... At school, if I dated someone, I didn’t tell everyone. I fee like if everyone knows my stuff, it’ll take the beauty and pureness out of it."
On her wedding to Jay-Z: "I've never been the girl who went to a wedding and thought, ‘Oooh, I want to get married.’ So I didn't want anything big and dramatic [for my wedding day] ... And I think that people can put way too much emphasis on the day. It’s just so temporary and it goes in a second ... I think it’s important for women to have their moment, whether it’s your prom or your birthday ... but to me, marriage is not about that moment. It’s about something way deeper."
On her wedding ring: "I usually take it off for interviews because I don’t want anyone to write about it. There’s a tattoo underneath [the ring] ... It’s of the number four, but the significance is private – it’s between me and my guy."
On having children: "I do eventually want all of that (children) but I’ve seen the reality of having a kid through my nephew, Jules, and I know I’m not ready for it! Although, you know, if something happened ... People always say when it’s your kid it’s different."

It sounds like Beyonce's going to continue to keep her private life private, and good for her I say, but I'm excited for the day she starts a family with Jay-Z! The full interview appears in the March issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, on sale now.

How To Get a Celeb Bikini Body like Kate Moss and Kelly Brook

Time to ditch the sarong and stop hiding behind the cover-ups.

To tone up your glutes and keep your bum looking peachy, go for the lunge. Stand with your feet wide apart, knees bent and the weight through your heels. Squat and repeat five times. Next, stand one foot in front of the other, and lunge forward. This works the back of your thighs, as well as calves.

Arms like Beyonce
For toned upper arms, it's best to do free standing weights. Speak to your local gym or personal trainer to ensure you're using the right weight for your body type.

Sexy Men and Sweethearts Sing Their Hearts Out

AMA winner Fergie opened the show last night with a medley of her latest and greatest hits. It was a strong start for a show that definitely included some memorable performances including glow in the dark dancer, Chris Brown and Rihanna who looked way better on stage than on the red carpet. Beyonce dressed down when she joined Sugarland for a duet of her hit Irreplaceable. Sexy Lenny (yes I have a huge thing for him) wore his usual all black as he sang a soon to be hit song from his new album. My favorite performance of the night was Alicia Keys (check out the video below). Not only was her voice killer but the songs she mixed together definitely got the crowd on their feet. She is a wonderful performer and even if I'm not used to seeing her do choreographed dance moves, she pulled it off. We have a feeling her album is going to knock Jay-Z off the top spot this week.

Beyonce's Insecurities

Beyonce has been battling plenty of rumors these days. The most recent have to do with her real age, her wedding, and her jealousy of her Dreamgirls co-star. Luckily for B, she is used to the ups and downs that come along with being famous. However, she wasn't always good at dealing with them. There's definitely been some bad spots, she says. Here's more:

After Beyoncé’s all-girl group, Destiny’s Child, broke up amid wide negative press coverage, Beyoncé admits, “I went through depression. I didn’t eat. I stayed in my room. I was in a really bad place in life, going through that lonely period: ‘Who am I? Who are my friends?’ My life changed.” Among the changes upsetting her was the loss of the boy she loved. “I had the same boyfriend from age 12 until I was 19,” she says. “It was hard for me to let go of him. Now that I was famous, I was afraid I’d never find somebody again to love me for me. I was afraid of making new friends.”

Beyoncé finally decided she had two choices: “I can give up, or I can go on. If love happens, it will happen naturally. I don’t go looking for love. I’m old enough to know who I want to be with.” She has been dating rapper/businessman Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, 36, and when asked if she wants to marry, she says, “Yes. My parents have been married for 27 years, and they’re still in love. That’s a great example for me. I know it’s possible.”

Well, she's obviously back on her feet and found a man like Jay-Z to love her for her. We hope these two get married soon since we'd love to see those wedding pics. In the meantime, to check out more news from the Parade article just read more

VH1 Big in '06 - The Big Show

Last night was the VH1 Big in '06 Awards that celebrated everything that was big news this past year. Okay, not everything, but those that are worth laughing about. The show was hosted by DL Hughley from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and it was clear immediately that the show was just for fun. It was obviously inspired by VH1's I Love the 80s series with comedians making snarky comments about everything, especially the nominees themselves. So it's probably a good thing that Britney skipped it to celebrate her birthday. The show had quite a lot of laughs at her expense (insert underwear joke here). And when she won for Big Mama (yes that was the category), comedian Brody Stevens said she'll land on her feet because "she's going to get any gig that Jessica Simpson says no to." Ouch! Big winners included JT, BFFs Britney and Paris, Kiefer and Katharine McPhee.
