It's just good to be prepared in case of an accident. If you don't believe me, check out this testimonial. This guy was biking and got hit by a car. He couldn't speak, but his ankle ID had all of his info.

You can get up to 6 lines of text engraved on the stainless steel plate. Choose whether you want the Wrist, Shoe, Shoe Pouch, or Ankle ID.

Now you'll have your important info with you whenever you venture out. Each one is made with durable, water-resistant velcro, so it attaches easily. Plus the band acts as a reflector for an added safety bonus. Nice.

Free People Junction City Biker Short: Love It or Hate It?

Just because Gwyneth wears biker shorts doesn't mean I have to - or do I? If I were to don this '80s trend, I would go all-out with this Free People Junction City Biker Short ($28). I kinda like how the leather-like sheen gives this sporty look a dose of glam. I'm trying to picture it with a cute skirt or dress but Blossom keeps popping up in my head. I definitely wouldn't pair it with ripped tights like the model. Tell me your thoughts: are these biker shorts utterly cool or a major no-no?

All Kinds of Gifts For Bikers

Nothing beats heading out for a ride on Christmas day decked out in new gear with all sorts of new biking accessories. From full fingered, padded cycling gloves - a wintertime must have - to entry level biking computers, this list has something every cyclist wants. If your biking friend has everything, splurge and give them a biking computer with a built in heart rate monitor for the full fitness riding experience. Fancy cycling knickers are a perfect gift too. Even if there is snow on the ground, these padded knickers will be great for early Spring rides after the thaw. Don't forget the urban cyclist either. I have found a great set of panniers and a super cute bike basket as well. Take a gander at the gifts and tell me what cycling gear you covet for Christmas.

Fittingly Mad: Bikers NOT Following the Rules

I was driving to the post office the other day and a bunch of bikers (riding bicycles - not motorcycles) were totally ditching every road rule in the book. They were riding on the left side of the road and cutting in front of cars. I don't care so much that they weren't using their arm signals when turning, but they weren't even checking for cars before hanging a right. Don't even get me started on how they were running red lights and busting through stop signs... I also saw them go from riding all over the road, to racing through the sidewalk, almost knocking over this poor woman and her two kids.

This makes me so mad because riders like them are giving us responsible and road-worthy bikers a bad reputation. Not to mention it's completely unsafe and a great way to get yourself hit by a car.

If you're a biker and you're going to share the road, you've got to follow the rules -- It's that simple. Just because you're on a bicycle doesn't mean you don't have to follow the rules of the road, in fact you should be more vigilant.

Let's do what we can to keep everyone sharing the road safe because the safer we all feel, the more people that will get out and ride their bikes. The more bikes, the less cars, and less cars means less pollution in the air for us and future generations.

You may miss your man as he extends his rides after the fitting, but he will be happy in the saddle for hours.

I know Gwyneth Paltrow wears biker leggings when working out with pal Madonna, but I didn't know she also wears them out at night. Perhaps she took note from Prada's resort collection.

During an evening out in London with friends Stella McCartney and Kate Hudson, Gwyn wore a flowy black skirt over biker shorts, a black blazer, a blingin' statement necklace, and Oxford loafers by Tod's. The leggings and loafers help counterbalance the femininity of the skirt and necklace. Is Gwyn onto something or is this look a flop?
