I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but it still confuses me when people wear tights in hot weather. Exhibit A: Kate Beckinsale while Halloween shopping. This all-black look may have worked in the evening but it certainly doesn't fly on a sunny day in LA.

If I was Kate, I would have firstly ditched the knit beanie. Unless you're in snow, rain, or San Francisco, you don't need it. Next, I would have left behind the black tights. She has nice gams and should show them off. I would have also switched the suede boots for a pair of colored flats.

LA Fashion Week Trend Alert: Black Tights

Quick: what's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of black tights? Cold weather, Fall or Winter, I bet. The last thing I would associate black tights with is sunny LA. So imagine my shock when I spotted so many girls at LA Fashion Week wearing black tights during the day. Mind you, the weather was about 75 degrees.

Don't get me wrong, I love a cool pair of tights when the weather calls for it but what do you think of black tights in warm weather? Is it fashionable or a fashion faux pas?

What's the difference between ice florals and moody florals you ask? They're cooler. While I also like a burst of turquoise or coral during Winter months, sometimes black, white, and gray feel more serious. Relaxed vs. Natural Hair vs. Weaves vs. Dreads

Here are highlights from OnSugar blog Krissy's One Stop Beauty Spot.

Women, especially black women, have the ability to change hairstyles like underwear. I support you ladies no matter what you do - just do it right and take care of your hair. For the most part we all practice the same principles when it comes to proper hair care (co-washing, ACV rinse, trims, deep conditioning, etc.). I'm always willing to help people with hair questions and concerns, or at least point them in the right direction. I know plenty of people in that area.

Where I stand on a lot of hair issues:

I'm anti kiddie perms and kiddie dreadlocks on children if they're at an age where they can't make that choice for themselves (unless, of course, it's part of your religion). It's not about the chemicals, it's about the fact that it's a permanent hairstyle on a child. What if your child decides they want to wear their natural hair? You'll have to either cut their hair to transition them to natural hair. Yes, you can remove dreads but unless someone can find me a "safe" method that doesn't damage the hair, then I won't be changing my mind about this.
I'm pro weaves and braids as long as it's done right and your hair is still being kept healthy. If your hair is being done too tight and coming out, it's time to find a new stylist.
I'm pro curly and natural hairstyles within corporate America. I hear a lot of natural haired beauties bragging about self-acceptance and mainstreaming natural hair, but they still search for corporate hairstyles because of their natural hair. A bun will always be conservative no matter what type of hair you have.
I've always encouraged hair dialogue among women of different nationalities. You'll be surprised by the things we all have in common. If your non-black friend is telling you about a great hair balm that she pays $15 for, take her on a trip to a local beauty supply store and show her where to buy it for $5.

Heidi Klum Leads the Angels Down One Last Carpet

The Victoria's Secret gang was ready to let loose last night at the M2 Ultra Lounge in NYC after their fabulous runway show. Heidi Klum was the last of the Angels to arrive, stepping onto the pink carpet following her surprise turn on the catwalk. After giving birth just last month, she looked amazing in a slick, tight, black and white dress.

The girls all slipped into marginally more covering clothes to pose for photos. Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr, and Alessandra Ambrosio leading the way into the party. Fergie was also there to take in the scene after performing earlier with the Black Eyed Peas during the show. Doutzen Kroes opened up about the healthy breakfast they'd all sat down to in the morning, which included eggs and fruit - nothing to make anyone puffy! Who Wore It Better? Luscious Leather LBD

Can't seem to find the gusto to don a leather dress? Look to Kate Moss and Carine Roitfeld for inspiration. No doubt, the two are working it in their identical long-sleeve leather dresses. Kate Moss added some rockability to the high-neck cut by accessorizing with sexy bare legs, a studded belt, and pointy-toe pumps. In comparison, the French Vogue editor covered her stems with sexy, sheer black tights and tough, suede ankle boots. Notice how Moss tossed her hair up, while Carine kept hers down. Tell me, which leather lovin' lady do you prefer?

Let's talk pantyhose for a sec. I wore black sheer hose quite a bit last Winter - sometimes opaque tights felt too conservative. I know it's very Working Girl, but it's a sexier alternative to tights. Case in point: Liya Kebede in a satin Stella McCartney Resort dress and sheer hose.
