Last night at the Glamour Women of the Year event in New York City, singer Rihanna took home the big award. I'm guessing it has something to do with not only her music and her style, but it also pays tribute to the bravery and courage she displayed going public about her abusive relationship with Chris Brown. Rihanna complemented her flesh-toned ball gown with newly pale blonde hair. Out of these three hair colours below, which look do you like the most?

Country Shines Bright and Taylor Cleans Up at the CMAs!

Last night we gave you a taste of the CMA Awards, and now here's the whole set! For the younger women, it was all about the shine on the red carpet from Taylor Swift's typical beautiful sparkly gown to Carrie Underwood's mirrored number. Carrie was one of the hosts of the night along with Brad Paisley, so once she stepped inside it was all about the costume changes for her. Nicole Kidman had nothing but love for her husband Keith Urban, who was a nominee. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw always look classic together and this was no exception.

Taylor kicked off the show with a wild performance of "Forever and Always" where she threw around her long blond hair as she sang. There were no semi-subtle kisses for Taylor Lautner this time, but the two have a lot to celebrate next time they see each other - she won the biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year! She also won for female vocalist of the year, album of the year and music video of the year for "Love Story." Carrie Underwood walked away empty handed, but she and Brad Paisley did a great job hosting the show which included a few jokes at the expense of Kanye West. Kid Rock and Dave Matthews Band were also among the performers at the fun country-filled award show.

Love It or Hate It? Nicole Kidman's Chic Beauty

At Elle's 15th Annual Women in Hollywood event last night, a glowing Nicole Kidman rubbed shoulders with a host of stars, including Kate Beckinsale, Halle Berry, Eva Mendes and Anne Hathaway.

Nicole looked incredibly fresh faced, with perfect skin and just a hint of pink blush. Her eye makeup was dramatic, with dark black kohl on the upper lashes and a smudgy, lime green colour just below her eyes. This somewhat bizarre combination actually looked stunning thanks, I'm sure, to her expert makeup artist.

Nicole's dark rose lip colour bought out the flush in her cheeks and she wore her hair poker straight. I'm not sure about the different shades of blonde in her hair though, and is that a hint of grey I can detect near her roots?

Apparently, Blondes Take Longer To Primp Than Brunettes

Goody Hair Care in the United Kingdom has conducted a recent survey of 3,000 women claiming that blondes spend take an average of six minutes longer to get ready than brunettes do. In fact, on average, it takes women with pale hair 72 minutes to beautify compared to the 66 minutes that it takes women with darker hair. How long does it take you to get ready? And, if you've been both a blonde and a brunette, have you noticed that one hair colour effected how quickly you got ready for a night out on the town over another hair colour?

Leaving the house: Whilst brunettes are more likely to leave the house without any of their hair and make up being done, blondes spend excessive amounts of time showering, brushing their teeth, doing their hair, makeup and nails.
Beauty regimens: Brunettes can stray or vary from their skincare routines, however, three quarters of blondes stick to the same beauty regimen every day.
Who has more fun?The answer to this, whilst trite is blondes! At least in the UK, this study shows that blondes have a better social life than brunettes, as they go out more often. According to Goody’s Rose-Marie Jarvis, "We found that often it’s the time spent on getting ready that gives women a confidence boost."

How Kristen Bell Stays Fit as a Fiddle

Kristen Bell is no stranger to the spotlight, with her villainous role on Heroes and also starring in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Now she's in another new flick, Couples Retreat, and with her busy career, Kristen has maintained her amazing figure.

In a recent interview with Women's Heath magazine, the blond actress shares how she tries to squeeze some kind of physical activity into her schedule every day, whether it's going for a walk, taking the stairs, or hiking with her pooches. Yoga is also part of her routine to help her stay aware of her body, and strength training helps her stay toned. I love that Kristen admits she'll lift weights for much longer with a trainer than she would by herself.

You may be surprised to hear that Kristen does keep track. "I find it almost comforting to count calories, because it makes me conscious of what I'm eating." She is a conscientious eater too. Kristen decided to go vegetarian at age 11 for animal rights, but her mom made sure she was healthy about it. Bell explains, "I try to eat more fresh foods than processed ones, and the grainiest bread possible."

Another great tip? Kristen will exercise during lunchtime, and afterward, snack on her lunch the rest of the day. Instead of devouring it all at once, she'll enjoy a handful here, do a little work, then have another gigantic handful. She says, "It spaces the meal out to a place my body can handle." When it comes to preparing food, Kristen loves to cook. Perusing recipes online and trying them out is one thing she loves to do for others. Making food yourself is one sure way to know what you're putting in your body, so you can make sure it's healthy.

This movie's great triumph - and great tragedy - is that it deftly picks apart our social constructions of beauty and shows us just what they look like underneath. And believe me, though it's sometimes funny, it's certainly not pretty. Chris Rock has, disarmingly, disturbingly, hilariously, and sometimes very poignantly explored the minefield of hair products and social signals that African-American women are forced to navigate. The result is a film that's brimming with life as well as contradictions. See this film, and you'll never look at a hair process (or extensions, for that matter) the same way again.

Does Dyeing Your Hair Blond Really Make You Look Younger?

This is one of those things I always hear, and a lot of women, like Anna Wintour here, do seem to opt for blond as they get older. I always assumed women go blond in their 40s and 50s because it's the easiest way to cover gray, but I've heard some vague evolutionary biology stuff thrown around, too, where people say that blond = youth. Because babies have lighter hair than adults, generally, blondes read as more fertile and youthful. But I just don't see it. It seems to me that a flattering shade is a lot more effective than just going lighter, and tons of babies are born with beautiful black hair. What do you think? Is there some truth to this, or is it all pseudo-science and no substance?

What Do You Think About Men Who Dye Their Hair?

I was shocked (shocked, I tell you!) to see this picture of actor Stephen Moyer, better known as Vampire Bill from True Blood, at a Nylon magazine party. There he is, just standing around, being blond. I don't know if this is his natural shade, but it does indicate that there's some coloring going down on set. Stephen is a fine-lookin' man either way, but what do you think about all this man-coloring? And what about guys who dye their hair just because they want to, instead of for work?
